Take the drum unit out and lightly dab the roller on the drum (not the roller on the toner!) There is probably toner on that roller and it will leave black spots on your paper. I'm not a professional so take this from someone who may not know what they are talking about. I just had the same problem though and that's what it said to do in the manual! You can use Isoproply Alcohol (lightly, not soaked) on the qtip. It says to not "rub" as it may damage it so just gently dab.

I heard that its not enough to wear dark glasses to protect your eyes from the sun. You need special lenses. Is that true?

yes you need to get polarized lenses not just dark glasses if you want to protect your eyes from UV rays. This is also true for children as the harmful impact of UV rays builds up over a lifetime and is not just something that affects adults.

Is it unhealthy for your eyes to have eye surgery to correct your vision? I really want to get rid of my glasses as I hate them but am worried about the long term effects of the surgery.

In the meantime there are no reports of any long term damage after the eye surgery. The cornea is very sturdy and apparently suffers no long term effects from the corrective surgery. But if you are worried you should talk it all through with your doctor before you have it done.

What should I do for these dry eyes?

Let's first review what we know about wet eyes and dry eyes.

The healthy eyeball remains moist due to the presence of a three-layer tear film. The outmost layer is oil, the middle layer is water, and the tear layer closest to the cornea is mucus. Tiny, microscopic glands deep in the eyelids called the ACCESSORY LACRIMAL GLANDS produce the water layer. Do not confuse these with the big lacrimal gland above the eyeball.

If these tiny glands produce an inadequate supply of fresh water (and oxygen) to the surface of the eye, the tear film becomes toxic, just like vinegar. In response to this change, nerves on the surface of the eye sense trouble and alert the big lacrimal gland upstairs to make lots of tears to flood the surface of the eyeball. The same thing happens whenever somebody blows smoke into your face.
