Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a weathermaker sxc 060- gg. Last year the heat would come on but not get that hot, this year the heat won't come on @ all, just blows cold air. I can smell a faint gas smell when I take off the cover near the hole. What can I do before calling repair shop. We also had our gas shut off earlier this year

The gas line has air in it, Turn the unit off, at breaker or unplug it. Bleed the air out of the gas line, It should take about 5 seconds to bleed. Tighten gas line, Plug or reset breaker and unit should fire.

SOURCE: comp shuts off

Coils could be dirty. Compressor could be getting too hot and cutting off. Will have one fan motor that turns condenser fan and evaporator blower.

SOURCE: Furnace runs constantly since blower motor was replaced

Sounds like they wired it direct to line voltage , it should run through a sequencer or fan relay to cycle on and off , your seq./relay could be stuck closed to but unlikely being it was just repaired , call the service company back before you do anything they are responsible.

Where does the 3 prong inducer plug into? Carrier Weathermaker Model 58SXAO80-GG Serial 1490A02296

Hi, it would either plug into the circuit board/control board, or have a connector of the same, either male or female it would plug directly into. This is a 120 volt inducer motor. Look for the other end of the plastic plug.

Your blower motor may have failed. Check the blower motor for the air circulation and you may find it is hot but not running. Have the motor replaced if this is the case.
