Not sure about this system, but most gps units if you push the button thew go into standby. If you hold the button the shutdown screen comes up and asks if you want to shut the unit down. Might take 5-10 second hold though.

Which button, the only buttons that keep it on stand by is written S, I think it stands for source but, other than that other buttons are plain normal and none has a "on or off" written on it. There is this blue button with an "E" letter on it and it may be used to skip tracks either forward or backwards but, no normal off button. I just thought of removing the whole Radio but, I will be left soundless on these busy roads. HOW DO I SWITCH THIS OFF? Please see picture herein. Oh it didnt come with a remote control.

We turn it on and the screen stays blue...it is connected to the cable but won't get a picture nor does the original set up come on

I don't have the manual in front of me but what you need to do is change the source. The tv accepts input from various sources and connections. So you need to tell it where to find the signal you want. On your remote there will either be a button marked source or you will have to find it from the setup or menu button.

Usually there are 3 or 4 valid inputs. So all you do is press the source button and it switches to the next source. If there is nothing there you press it again and it goes to the next and so on. It will just keep cycling through the inputs as you press the button. You should see something marked as AV1 AV2 CABLE as you cycle through. When it finds the cable source it will then scan through and mark the avilable channels. This may take a few minutes. After that you can just use the remote to normally switch channels up/dwn etc.
