Question about Honeywell R7184B1024 Electronic Oil Primary is obsolete, click here to see options

Open Question

How can you fix faulty parts ? the R7184B Primary Control relay's are not a good idea in my book, 3 days without heat does not make a person very excited about 2 out of the box faulty parts ! ended up

It started with the 11 year old burner motor going out, I replaced it and the primary control, the box style, putting a new R7184B on, checking the everything else to insure no other problems, the burner would ignite and run 4-6 seconds, checking everything again it came down to the primary control, I put the second one on, with very few company's carrying parts for an oil burner everything had to be ordered, day 3, I had an old furnace in the shop, I took the primary control off of it and it has ran smoothly since. This is not the first time that I've had problems with these primary controls, I have always had to put an old style control on to get the burner to work. I have 3 heating and cooling friends with over 20 years experience have the same trouble with your R7184B primary conrtols. Why are you still pasting this controls off on the public ?

SOURCE: No heat!

I took your advice and got someone in this afternoon. He replaced the pump there and then and all is working well again. He charged £135 for the pump plus labour. It was the best price I could get after ringing around a few other companies. I wish I was a plumber and could charge prices like that!
Thanks a lot for your help.

SOund like you heating element has a open limit or the sequencer is bad. Another thing that it may be is the element wire has broken. Either way it sounds like you need a technician to come out and repair.

Without knowing fuel or model, it could be bad relay in primary control or loose wiring, on either power or t-stat side.

Hi.

Be sure that you have checked the thermal fuse. The part is tested using a multimeter set on Ohms (impedance). Remove the fuse from dryer and read impedance touching the fuse contacts with the two multimeter probes. If impedance is Ohm infinity (open), then the fuse is bad.

If the fuse is OK because tested good or replaced, then the problem is either one of the three thermostats located in the heating group, or the heating element. All parts are tested similarly to what described for the thermal fuse. If any of the parts read open (infinity), then the part is faulty. After finding the defective part remove all the lint from heating assembly and air duct. The lint causes overheating and blows thermostats, fuse or element.

Regards.

My benilli 150 want do anything when i pusg the start button

Hi, Hawksribs and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

Hi, start at the thermostat on this unit if nothing else has been done as far as trouble shooting and repairs. 3 months doesn't mean a thing when it comes to a/c and refrigeration & heating parts. Check the stat operation, or replace it, and I am 99.9% sure this will solve your control problems.
Sincerely, and a good day to you!

My microwave oven timer works, the turntable turns, but it barely heats, so can't be used. It worked well till yesterday.. Any ideas what the problem could be? Its a 2006 model.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out. you can have one of the issues.
  1. Low line voltage.
  2. Magnetron with low emission.
  3. Faulty controller or set for wrong mode.
  4. Intermittent connections to magnetron filament or elsewhere.
  5. Faulty primary relay or triac or HV relay (not commonly used).
  6. Damaged protective VDR from filament to chassis (not commonly used).
Microwaves must be serviced by technicians due to the inherent dangers involved in repairing these appliances. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even though the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any internal component repair.

HI. the oven control will interrupt normal actions if it senses an abnormal oven temperature. this can be caused by a faulty RTD(temp sensor), and, also, a faulty relay board if present.

Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness to make sure it is in good condition.

The heater relay is located on the control board, a faulty relay or a faulty control board would cause the problem you have described. The fix is to replace the control board. Parts for your unit should be available from most appliance parts retailers, if there is not one local to you, the part is available at www.apliancepartspro.com. along with an exploded view of your unit

Hope this helps.

Sound like it is the control panel problem. Like a crack solider in the control panel. You will need to replace to control panel to fix the problem. If you are good????? You can get a magnifing glass and see the crack solider amd fix the panel yourself. Good luck, Spankie09
