If you have had a lightning storm or power surge it may have fried the electronics panel. That is what happened to mine. Once it is fixed you should put a surge suppressor on it that is rated for major appliances.

SOURCE: Washing machine problem

Same - there's a company in Denmark which does brushes - you have to hunt them down on the web. The brushes come in a brass slider and spring, and sit in a rubber cage. Make sure you don't throw away any bits of the old brushes as you might need to reuse the old rubber cage.

Another solution (if you have the rubber cage) is to move the brushes along a bit and bend the metal tabs on the brass slider. That will give you a contact again - the machine will work for a few weeks or so, which gives you time to order the new brushes.

Sharp automatic washing machine model ess 139 cannot spin

How To Fix A Washing Machine That Is Not Spinning or Draining
Sometimes the computer will send fault codes to the motor because of:
1. An electrical spike
2. A load imbalance
3. A fault in the computer module itself To perform the Master Reset, carefully unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and leave it unplugged for one minute. After one minute is up, plug the washer cord back into the wall. Next, open and close the door of the washing machine 6 times within 12 seconds to send a "reset" signal to all the components. (This is a common fix that many appliance repair mechanics use - it works on about 50% of all washing machines.)If that did not solve the problem then it may be the "Lid Switch". Top loading washing machines that have a faulty lid switch will not turn the agitator and the spin cycle will not start. However on some washing machine models it will still agitate but not spin. To properly check this you must remove the lid switch. (The lid switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame.) The proper procedure for removing the switch will vary by different washing machine models Water Level Control / Pressure Switch". This is usually always the defective part when your washing machine pumps the water out but will not spin and also whenthe water overflows on your washer. You can check this yourself by removing the 4 screws that hold the control panel in place. Once removed you will see the Water Level Control Valve. To identify it look for the part with the small plastic tube attached to it. Once identified, pull the plastic hose off the water level switch and blow air into it. If the tube is clogged with soapy residue, then you can try forcing vinegar down the tube and in the switch itself by using a turkey baster as this will dissolve the soapy residue. If the switch is visibly cracked or burned you will need to replace it

My maytag washer does not spin fast enough to get the water out of the clothes. Please advise

Randall, the high speed spin failure can be caused by a number of issues. I would suggest starting the machine without any clothes in it. Once it has filled, make sure the door lock light is on and that the door is, in fact, locked. If the light is not on, or if the door is not actually locked, either the door lock assembly or the control panel is at fault.

If the light is on and the door is locked, stop the wash cycle and start a drain and spin cycle to see if all of the water is pumped out of the drum. All water should be pumped out within 10-15 seconds. If excess water is in the drum, the high speed spin will not start.

Why is my maytag Neptune Model no# MAH5500AWW spinning very slow and not draining water out?

Complete drain must occur before spin. A no drain situation would be an actual full pool of water seen in the bottom of the machine if all the cloths were removed, sounds like you are experiencing a spin enable switch failure, which mainly prevents final high speed spin leaving the cloths dripping wet. The spin enable switch contacts become tarnished/corroded over time resulting in poor connection. If the door lock light comes on than your door lock wax motor is working. The spin enable switch is the last switch to the right in the door lock unit where the light bulb is. Part# is 22002162. If there is an actual pool of water in the bottom of the machine as if you simply removed the cloths from the unit but left the wash water, than you should look first look to your drain pump for failure, or obstruction of foreign objects, or excess lint in the pump. Will not drain and spin keep beeping with error E20

  1. Remove the 2 screws on the bottom and the front access panel comes off.
  2. Pump is on the right, remove hoses from it, remove pump from machine and remove whatever is in the pump.
Try holding the start/pause and cancel key together for 3 seconds. The door lock, wash, rinse and final spin LEDs should light. Any error codes should be displayed when holding those keys.

Door locks as it should, machine spin cycle will start, but will never reach full speed, pump drains all water out

Hi, this is an issue usually associated with a faulty door lock assy & machine control board, that' s the control in the console behind the timer. If you arr able to remove the control and visually inspect it great. Look for a resistor identified as "R11", if it looks burnt or disoloured badly (it should have stripes from left to right, gold, red, white, & orange). You'll need a new control #22002989. this is most common, but not exclusively the only possible fault, but a good place to start based on your symptoms. Hope that helps, good luck

Whirlpool awo 3751/5 will not spin

Hi,
There is a locking coupler on the Whirlpool washing machines that locks when it kicks into spinning cycle. I am guessing here, but if you try and run it without any clothes in it, it will probably spin. It will be slow starting, but it will probably spin.

The coupler is located down by the motor and is three pieces. They made it out of plastic, and while it typically holds up very well, they do break. I will try to look up the part # you need to fix it. (assuming this is your problem)

Condenser tumble dryer water problem

Took advice...isolated from electricity supply...removed left side panel (side with condenser tank), to access the pump. Cleaned it all out (masses of water and grey lint!) and put it all back together again. Bit fiddly getting the panel back on...no screws left over...result!

All working great now.

Simpler solution maybe...There is a 'trap door' that can be removed, which gives access to the area where the water and lint accumulate.

1) Isolate from electricity supply.
2) Take out the condenser unit at the bottom LHS front of the machine (routine maintenance).
3) Underneath of where the condenser unit usually lives..at the back...reach in and open the 'trap door'. This needs a flat head screwdriver and you must release the two plastic clips holding the trap door.
4) You can now access the area where the water and lint accumulate...which makes the 'float' give a false container full fault.
5) Clean out this water and gunk regularly (once a month)!

Hoping this will avoid taking the side panel off again...
