Dell 922 aio carrier stall

Its been days now and my aio hasn't worked. I've tried to get to the black in cartridge that I must have installed wrong but the carraige is trapped under the printer housing so I can't get it out.

Can you cheat the top so that it thinks you have everything closed?  You're going to want to watch the carriage try to come out.  There's usually a tab on the door/lid that tells the printer you have shut it.  If you stick something in where the tab pokes into the machine, you'll cheat it.

Anyway, once you cheat it, turn the machine on and you can see what's stopping it.

Unless it never moves away from the cleaning section at all.  In that case, it might have locked itself into that position.  You might have to look for gears that you can turn to pull the cleaning section away from your printheads.

    Try this -

Open the printer and see if you can look along where the carriage moves back and forth. There should be what looks like a clear plastic strip or 'mylar' behind it that runs along the length of the printer.

This mylar has tiny lines in it (too small for us to see.) The carriage contains a sensor that looks through the mylar (the mylar is called an encoder strip) to find out where it is. If you can see the encoder strip, wipe it with a slightly damp rag.  Be careful not to bend or kink it.  If it is warped, it is probably shot.

Then move the carriage all the way to the other side and wipe what you couldn't get at.

    Thankyou,

    Erice

Dell 922 print carrier stall error message. Also, error 1200.

Hi
hope it will work
Error code: 1200
This error code is commonly associated with the Dell 922 printer. Usually you might see the cartridge moving front and back and slamming itself against the printer. You need to tighten the strings located on the back of the printer and then it should work fine

Clean the carriage rail. This is the round chrome piece that the carriage assy that holds the cartridges rides on. Use a paper towel that is slightly moist.
Be sure to not force anything. Unplug the printer after you get the carts in the middle. Move them to one side and clean and then move them to the other and repeat.

Lift up the scanner to reveal the cartridge compartment; under the chrome rod on which the cartridges run there are two small gaps about 8cm apart. In the right one should sit the paper sensor which is a small black rod that hooks downwards; the problem I had was my sensor had bent up and out of the gap so all I had to do was bend it gently back into position using a small screwdriver.

Hope you get it to go.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Dell AIO 942 Error 2200

I would recommend cleaning off the contacts where the cartridge is loaded as well as the any other spots to see if maybe there is just something on the contacts.

Printer Always Indicates Ink is Low or Cartridge is Incorrect

To get rid of the low ink warnings google the specific error message with 'ink refill' and look for 'engineers reset' or similar ..

NB. Dell printers (re-badged Lexmarks) are notorious for ink usage and high costs .. so my best recommendation would be to throw it away and purchase something else ..

"Carrier stall" Error and the Carrier Slams in the Printer I
If the printer carrier is slamming into the side of the printer, please try the following:
  1. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the printer.
  2. Open the front cover of the printer where the cartridges are located.
  3. Look for two black bands that span from left to right (they should have one serrated side and one smooth side). Just above the black bands there is a transparent strip; this strip is called the Encoder strip.
  4. Flick this strip lightly with your finger to make sure that it is running smoothly from left to right. You may need to do this two or three times. CAUTION: Do not pull the strip!
  5. Close the front cover of the printer and reconnect the power supply.
