How do I get my aftermarket radio to shut off with the ignition

You should have a cable marked ign + on the wiring loom of your aftermarket unit this needs to be connected to the 12 volt ign cable on the cars wiring loom , easiest way to identify this cable is with a multimeter you should have one permanent 12 volt DC and 1 x 12 volt DC that comes on and off with your ignition key. So 1 permanent 12v and ign 12v make sure they are the right way if your cables are not marked on the radios wiring loom get a manual to check which colour is the ign wire it's usually yellow or orange but check the schematic first before connecting any wiring.

How to wire in a kenwood KDC-U456 to a xf falcon ute

If you don't have a schematic on the old radio the only way to be sure is check it with a multimeter , first identify your permanent power 12 volt DC then find your switched 12 volt this will turn on ansd off with your ign key , the earth cable is normally slightly thicker than the rest of the other wires in the loom and will normally be black or green yellow , you wil need to set your meter to ohms setting to identify the speakers you should get 3.8 to 4 ohms reading back from the speakers when you find them.

If the wiring is uncut and the factory loom is still in place you can buy a factory plug in loom adapter.

I have an acura 2000 tl and the radio wiring harnes was cut off is there a diagram for this or is there a plug in adaptore so i can use the factory boss system and navigation with a diffrent radio

Hi Alberto,
It will be difficult to purchase just the factory connector for the rear of your stereo and nav system. The best thing to do in this situation is to try and find a second hand radio loom from a car wreckers/junkyard and fit the radio loom in place or have a autoelectrician wire the second hand loom in place. As for the wiring diagram, I do have one but it is in 3 parts and you will need the factory plug to wire the loom into.Let me know how you get on and I will send you the diagram when you require it.

My radio in my truck has soped working and I need to install a new radio. However I do not know which wires go to what speakers etc. Can you help me identify which color wires represent the speakers they...

I always would go to bestbuy or walmart to get a harness adapter kit and the radio bezel installation kit to install an aftermarket radio. Just plug it in, and the wires are all labeled for speakers, antenna, power, etc.

No radio will work in my car: Light just come on that it not even on the screen.

if you've used the loome plugged into the car check that the wires line up and the car has enough wires most new head units have 6 wires while most older cars only have 5 therefore you need to bypass the stereos ignition wire by joining it to the live wire and reconnecting all other wires as they would on the loome
