look for the sliding scanner lock switch located under the copy glass (in the space where the copies are supposed to come out) and unlock it

Where you can go is xerox.com and click on support and drivers, in the search area type in your sannner type, you may have to type it in 2 or 3 different ways until you get the proper machine, then click on downloads and drivers for the current drivers.
