CD/DVD compartment opens on its own. Refuses to stay closed.
Might be a mechanical issue with the drive itself. If you have the tools and the knowledge, you can try removing the optical drive and reseating it in the laptop (should only be held in place by 1, maybe 2 screws on the bottom). If that doesn't solve it, carefully try removing the faceplate and see if there's any debris or foreign substance that may be making contact with the area where the eject button would make contact with the drive, and using a q-tip, or non-conducive plastic object, try and remove the debris or substance gently (if using a q-tip, you can use a dab of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol). If this still doesn't resolve the issue, then it may be time to replace the optical drive, in which case you can get it replaced through your place of purchase, or through the manufacturer directly. Also, might be worthwhile to check and see if you're covered under warranty through either. If not, optical drives for laptops usually average between $60-90 USD for the part.
