Is this an oil leak??? theres no pressure at the oil pan gasket. you must lift the engine for access and support it higher in the motor mount area. but first obtain some oil dye and a blacklight. having all the likely leaks fixed may dissuede you from pulling the pan...especially if its a rear main. please provide more info or seek diagnostic "hands on" help. clean the engine and let it repeat its leak mess so you can trace it to its source

Sounds like the rear main oil seal on your motor is leaking. In order for it to be replaced, the transmission has to be removed. Not an easy task for the backyard mechanic.

I NEED TO KNOW THE TORQUE SPECS FOR THE OIL PAN ON A 1994 BUICK LESABRE 3.8 L. V6

* If removed, install the oil pump pipe and screen. Secure with the retaining bolt(s) and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

* Place a new formed rubber gasket in the oil pan flange.

* Position the oil pan and secure with the oil pan-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 124 inch lbs. (14 Nm). Do NOT overtighten the bolts, as this will damage the oil pan, causing a leak.

Hope help with this (remembere rated and comment this help).

1994 Ford Taurus 3.0 Oil Light and pressure

Yes, the oil pump is accessible when the oil pan is removed and at those miles it would be a good preventive maintenance idea to replace the oil pump.

Secondly, you should shop around for a better price. $332.00 seems a little high.

With an oil pump replacement, the pan gasket and the oil change should be included in the price, seeing as how those items are removed anyway.

As with any auto repair, its buyer beware. the crooks count on the fact that you don't know what is involved with the repair, or else you would have done it yourself.

Good luck
