Where could I get my 1960's Preway gas wall oven restored in the Vancouver BC area?

There is a brochure here for 1963. They made the first and only gas powered dishwasher! Your problem will be spares if it needs them. But hopefully it just needs servicing. It looks in good condition externally.

I have the KEBK101SSSO4 that has stopped working. According to a tech, due to a defect, the mother board (I think) and lever burned due to self-cleaning. Should this be fixed by Kitchenaid?

There is a limited warranty on certain parts. It could depend on how long ago you bought it. The "tech" who told you this should be familiar with the procedure for this repair under warranty if his company works with this manufacturer. I suggest you call the manufacturer and ask them which service providers are certified to provide warrantied repairs in your area and contact one of them instead of who you did. I am a technician at a company that handles warranty work on these. good luck,

After I cleaned my ovens the top one doesn't heat anymore. I was told that the circuit fuse button has to be reset. We can't locate it. Can you please help? The model umber is: Thermador SCD302TP

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

To address your post, looking for an over-temp cut-out tripped. Here`s what and where to look for for this,

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the lower door ( just below upper door) next to the lock latch assembly.

**Turn off the 40amp breaker at your service panel or sub-panel in the home before attempting any service...safety first**

With the power off, you should be able to remove the grill and push the red button in the center of the thermostat and that should fix your problem...as shown here,

macmarkus_192.jpg

If indeed the hi-limit is tripped you`ll know immediately because you`ll feel it click as you push it down. It will look like the image below...

Other than that if you call in a pro, I'd suggest you be sure they are an authorized B/S/H/ service provider ( B/S/H/ is the parent company for Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens products ).

Hope that answers your question and gets you back up and operating. Good luck.

Describe your Thermador CT 130 C problem. Not heating up properly after we used self-cleaning feature. We have noticed that it is only heating up to half the temperature that it was set to.

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

You have not mentioned if the oven has displayed any error code so I will take that for what it is...there was none shown.

With that, the post heading has conflicting info about your model so I'll go with the most common based on the SEC302 ovens.
I`d start by looking for an over-temp cut-out tripped. Since this problem started following a self clean cycle, it leads me to believe it is just that.

Here`s what and where to look for for this,

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the door and just below the control panel next to the lock latch assembly.

Ultimately it could be a faulty relay board or related to the timer, but I`d start with the hi-limit cut-out tripped first.

If the images I attached are not clear or you just want more info, I can send you a complete service manual in a "pdf" attachment, however you`d need to provide an email address to where I could send it to you.

Other than that if you call in a pro just be sure they are an authorized B/S/H/ service provider ( B/S/H/ is the parent company for Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens products ).

Let me know and I`ll watch for your reply and respond as soon as I can. Good luck.

Macmarkus :)

When cleaning oven after 30 min. beeping and E 2 appeared

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I just would like to clarify what you posted. Are you certain it is "E2" and perhaps not "F2" ?

The "F2" on the SC302 wall ovens indicates an overtemp was detected by the onboard watchdog in the control board.

( The lock indicator being on is simply a byproduct of the unit being in self-clean at the time the error occured ).

What this means can actually come down to a couple of things, either an intermittent temp sensor or ultimately a bad main relay board.

In the SC302 service manual I have instructs simply to replace the temp sensor. If the F2 reappears replace the main relay board...but not so fast.

* The one exception which is not mentioned in the manual but I have experienced first hand in the field is this...A tripped overtemp safrety cut-out.

Here`s what to look for for this,

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the door and just below the control panel next to the lock latch assembly.

**Turn off the 40amp breaker at your service panel or sub-panel in the home before attempting any service...safety first**

Oven keeps switching off

Hello

First double-check the gas supply. Look over the gas valves on the back of the oven to make sure gas is able to flow into the oven. If those look OK, call the gas company to see if there has been an interruption in service to the area or to the house.

If the oven grows too warm, the thermostat might malfunction and the thermostat is probably to blame for what you are experiencing.

The thermostat is the part of the oven that tells it when it has reached the desired temperature, shutting off the heating process. If one of the thermostat's components is broken or dirty, this can render the thermostat useless.

Cleaning and replacing the thermostat components is a process best left to professionals because untrained hands can easily break a thermostat that simply needed cleaning. If you suspect this is the issue, contact your local gas company. Sometimes, gas companies offer oven thermostat repair services.
