When i connect my samsung galaxy express to wi-fi my computer's wi-fi stops working

I have my PC connected to the home network and my mother bought a new phone (samsung galaxy express) and each time she connects to the home network via Wi-fi, my computers wi-fi just stop working and then I have to restart my router to have access again to my home network on my PC. I don't know is this happening because I have an iPhone 4 and this doesn't happen to me, is this because of Samsung Galaxy Express' 4G?

Hello Ricardo.
How are You? I Guess you need to
1- Check your wi-fi router model.
2- Check your wi-fi settings.
also please check how many devices are connected to your wi-fi at same time. because some routers can only support upto 5 device. you can check this in the settings and also routers manual.

Please let me know, once you done with it.

Regards

If you forgot the password or don't know the security code, You have to master reset the phone. Contact your service provider to get a master reset code at free of cost....You can also visit http://www.unlock-zone.com/ and can see different options there to get unlock code for a price. Choose any price appropriate for you.

SOURCE: Unable to Connect to WI-FI with my Samsung Galaxy

I just had this same problem - I suspect it may have been a new app I installed that changed some settings.
I fixed mine by going into Settings>Mobile Network settings, then tick "Use packet data". Worth a try.

SOURCE: galaxy samsung phone. He can't find wi-fi

He should read the manaul or call his cell phone provider's tech support.
If he still can't find wi-fi the wi-fi is turned off or hidden which can be corrected by the person who manages the wi-fi acces point.
I hope this helps him.

When updating apps always says looking for network

Do you have Wi Fi access? That is the "network" the tablet is looking for.

If you have Wi Fi at home is a password protected and have you created and account/profile on the tablet for your home wi fi?

Your are using own wi-fi network or someone else? If its yours you might have put your last name as a SSID i.e your network name, which is why its being listed on your wi-fi list.
Do let me know whole scenario.

Will not connect to wifi

  • Touch the Apps Menu button on the Home screen.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • Choose Wireless & Networks.
  • Choose Wi-Fi Settings.
  • Ensure that Wi-Fi is on.
When you see a green check mark next to the Wi-Fi option, Wi-Fi is on.
  • Choose a wireless network from the list.
Available Wi-Fi networks appear at the bottom of the screen. When no wireless networks are listed, you're sort of out of luck regarding wireless access from your current location.
    Optionally, type the network password.
Touch the Password text box to see the onscreen keyboard.
Touch the Show Password check box so that you can see what you're typing; some of those network passwords can be long.
    Touch the Connect button.
You should be immediately connected to the network. If not, try the password again.

What does need a data connection mean

To use Google maps or some other programs (like games), you need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, not the cellular network. You will need to be in an area with an open wi-fi network or have a wireless router in your home. Find your password for the router's wi-fi network (it should be password-protected) and the SSID; you also need the encryption type (WAP, WEP, etc.).

Press Apps on the Home Screen. Then press Settings and then Wi-Fi. Select Scan to locate available networks. While on the Wi-Fi tab, press Add Network. Enter the SSID with the keyboard, then touch Security type to select the encryption for your router. Then enter the password and finally press Save. (Some wi-fi routers will want the MAC address before you can add a device to the network. Go to the Menu - Advanced from the Wi-fi tab to get the information.)

If the wi-fi network has been set up on the Tab, press Apps on the Home Screen. Then press Settings and look for the Wi-Fi On/Off icon. Toggle this to on. (You can also access this by touching the time on the Home Screen. Then touch Wi-fi on the Quick Settings list.)

    I hope this helps.

2011 How to configure IP address of wi-fi connection on a Android Phone (Samsung Galaxy Tab) Posted in: Gadgets Tagged Under: Android, Galaxy, Samsung, Tab 7 Comments samsung_galaxy_tab-small-1.png
By default Androids phones (including Samsung Galaxy Tab) are set to automatically configure IP address, Gateway, Netmask and DNS address of wi-fi network.
But if you want to manually assign IP address, Gateway, Netmask and DNS address of wi-fi, here is how you can do. Method below is described for Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it will work for all Android phones.
    1. On Home screen, press Menu key.

    2. Tap Settings

    7. Enable "Use Static IP".

After you have enabled "Use Static IP", you will be able to manually assign and configure IP address, Gateway, Netmask and DNS address of wi-fi network.

Hi Team, My phone does not automatically connect to my home wifi. How do I get it to do that? Thanks B.

By default, Android will remember. If due to whatever reason it 'forgot' then you may add it manually.

    1. Go to Wireless & networks menu
    2. Select Wi-Fi settings
    3. Choose a listed network, or add a hidden network by selecting add Wi-Fi network
    4. If the network is encrypted then enter the password.

    5. If your home network is not broadcasting (hidden network), then select Add Wi-Fi network and enter the SSID name
    6. Provide the WEP/WPA key.

    Hope this helps
