How to change setting in bios to boot from cd drive"?"

you usually dont have to change the boot order to boot from a cd. the bios should check the cd rom before booting from the hdd. However, if that isnt the case, you can always change the boot order.

go to the bios settings while u turn your laptop on. (It should be "esc" for HP. a message will be displayed at the bottom of the screen indicating the key. if not, try esc, f10, f11, f12. either one of them should work).

go to the boot order settings (May have a different name- boot settings/ boot priority settings/ advance boot options etc.).

How to change boot up menu to cd rom

when your laptop sets up press F10 that will take you to your BIOS ...next go to "ADVANCED" Next go to BOOT OPTIONS...NEXT go to BOOT ORDER.... To change the order of your boot, use the + and - keys, after you get the cd-rom first in order, hit F10....go over to the "FILE" and save changes and exit. Your laptop will restart on its own ! to change the setting back just reverse the boot order ! :)

What is the boot order for acer aspire 7741

To use the Acer recovery CD you need to boot up with the CD.
Go into the BIOS setting and scroll through the settings until you come to Boot order. Then move the CD/DVD drive up as the first boot device and the hard disk as the 2nd boot device.
When you boot up the Acer with the recovery CD in the CD/DVD drive then it will boot up with the Recovery CD.

I have an asrock p67 extream4 it sees the optical sata drive in the bios but will not boot from it. I have the dvd drive first for boot. What should be the bios settings to boot from the optical drive?

In the Advanced Boot settings of the BIOS you will see a general boot order setting and then there are 2 others: for the order of the optical units and for the order of the hard disks.
Open the setting for the optical units and put the SATA one first - the IDE one is there first by default.

dear, your operating system has been crashed.
this problem is occured when windows install another drive (beside C)and user accidently formate the hard drive in which you install.

sometimes boot order has been changed and problem occured.
once you check the boot order from motherboard setting.
