The chain should not have slack but not so tight it will not roll by hand (wear a glove) when u pull down on the chain in the centre of the bar there will be about 1/8" max slack. be sure the guide that runs in the bar groove does not clear the bar when pulling down. Chain will loosen over time so check ea time u fuel.
Jug is for bar oil, assuming a separate compartment has been identified for gasoline oil/ mix. when buying bar oil buy the grade to the climate u are in , heavy for summer -- light for winter -cold climate

SOURCE: Poulan Farmhand chainsaw chain tightens too tight for motor to move chain

Make sure the chain is not over tightened. When adjusting the tightness, ensure there is at least 1/8" of looseness by pulling up on the chain in the middle of the bar and releasing it. If a chain becomes overheated because of leaning on the saw when the chain is dull, or lack of oil on the chain, it may expand in the track and not turn freely.

SOURCE: Chainsaw chain won't move on 16" Homelite bar

Sounds like th clutch brake is engaged. Try Pushing firmly foward on the hand guard in front of the handle. It should click to release the clutch brake.
Let me know if this helps.

SOURCE: Remington electric Pole Chain saw - what type of oil do I use?

You need “Bar and Chain Oil”, available at hardware stores and home centers. It is SAE 30 with additives to make it adhere to your bar and chain.
An excerpt from a Remington manual follows (edited).
FILLING OIL TANK

1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F.
• Colder use SAE 10 oil.
• Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for a good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.
• It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use.
• Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

Some manuals go from page 6 to page 14. This one is very good.

I have a husqvarna 350 that wont start, wondering if anyone can tell me what is the factory compression rating?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly You should have 120 PSI or greater compression. There is a ported compression release so you may see as little as 110 PSI but it is best to see 120 or greater.

How to attach chainsaw to pole

I am not sure what model number you have, but here is a link the owner's manual for model # 106821A ... http://12.153.20.74/manuals/111219-01B.PDF. On page 15 of this owner's manual explains how to attach the pole to the saw. Just make sure you are attaching the saw that is made to fit the pole or it may not work or be to heavy for the pole. I hope this helps.
