Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that the light on your Frigidaire dishwasher is lit as it normally is, except it will not operate. It is possible that your dishwasher may have an issue within the keypad or control panel. You can perform a reset, in the case that it is a miscommunication error within the dishwasher. You can reset the dishwasher by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. If this does not help correct your issue I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional technician for a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Check to see how it's loaded. If something is obstructing either of the spray arms it will not start. I had this same problem and checked to see if there was something impeding the arms - I found there was. Reloaded the unit and it's running like a champ now!

welcome to Fixya.
You said, You just installed the dishwasher and the only cycle it will go through is the rinse cycle. When You turn the dial to any of the other cycles:pots&pans, normal, light wash and upper rack, the start button as well as the heat dry button and the high temp button do not work. only button that will light up when pressed is the delay button. How can you fix this?
Is this your model FDB1050REC2This is a brand new model and you said you just installed it!
If it is brand new!
You do not have to fix it.
You have a full years warranty, parts and labor!let them fix it no cost to you.
The first thing they will do, . You can do your self!
Go to the breaker and turn it off for 5 minutes and then on again. This should reset the system and this usually is the end to most bad starts!

Sounds like the very common control panel issue. They have a tendency to short out due to overheating. It is possible it is the motor is bad, you can test power to motor with a voltmeter. If no power, then try power from control panel to motor. If there is power to motor, than motor is bad.

Same thing happened - couldn't do anything - was completely "locked"...tried the breaker reset and it worked immediately. Thank you for sharing the answer!
