Have you checked vents for blockages & ensure fan can rotate freely.

Hello.. My projector came on minutes ago now the light is just blinking. Can you please help? I have a Sony vpl-es7

You might check the following:

* signal is going to the input. If not, does the menu come up?
* air flow is ok. Projectors don't run well if they are hot and can't breathe

A growing black spot

the heat from the lamp has damaged your LCD panel
you may need to service the projector check the air flow o avoid further damage to the panels
check the filter and see if it is blocking the air flow!
in most cases the LCD panel has to be replaced and its not worth doing so as it cost a bomb

It says to Check the air flow

Open the cover. At some ends there will be 'filters', to clean the air entering the projector. If these filters are blocked with dust or lint, air flow will be blocked.
Clean any dust from these filters. Close the cover and check whether your problem is solved.

Check the air intake filter on the bottom of the projector. Clean or replace it, Page 147 in User Guide, then check for air flow from the output vents. Also, be sure there is no intake or output air restriction - air needs to get under the projector and be able to freely flow out.

LCD Ceiling-mounted projector keeps overheating.

canned air from the outside is good, but a lot of the dust collects on surfaces and bakes on. for best results, remove the top cover and blothe dust out of every nook and cranny, wipe it off of the fan blades, and make sure all of the fans spin well. you may need to replace the temp sensors if it happens too frequently. also, during the winter when the heat is on full blast, it tends to get very hot on the ceilings. is there enough air flow in the room? lastly, make sure they turn them off at the end of the school day. this will lenghten the life of the power supply and the lamp.

Pop saying check filter

Hi there...FIRST remove the dust filter and clean it with some compressed air, or you can leave it in place and use a vacuum cleaner hose to suction off the dust. Some projectors have a sensor that gets reset when the filter is removed. A lot don't. Check the onscreen menu for a reset option for the dust filter. This option may be only accessible with the remote control...DON'T reset the lamp hours! The most important thing with LCD projectors or any other projector, for that matter, is to keep the dust filters clean--think of someone putting their hand over your nose and mouth. The projectors emit a *huge* amount of heat and need plenty of air flow to remain cool. Also, the benefit of cool air keeps the delicate LCD panels from aging prematurely!---Rick

Problem with hitachi cp-RS55 multimedia projector sir

There is a menu item which has both the lamp hour reset and check air flow, etc. You must go into the menu and reset the air flow item. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE DUST FILTER!! Heat is the number one killer of projectors and Hitachi's run "hot". I clean my projector once a week--Hey, I'm not rich. lol! Also, excessive heat will cause the lcd panels to fail prematurely and cause lots of other components to do the same.--Rick

Infocus Lp290 Will not stay on.

Check the area around the fan and make sure you have good airflow. Put a small fan near the unit and direct the air flow so it cools it and let us know.

Displayed massege to check air flow

With most projectors there is a foam air filter behind a grill that is the opening to the cooling channels. A fan ensures air flow to cool the lamp, etc. This filter prevents dust from gumming up the works (and depending on design) may prevent dust getting into the optics. As the filter gets dirty it gradually cuts off the air and at some point a protective circuit kicks in and turns off the lamp.
If the projector is on you will feel a stream of hot air coming out of the exit vent. Projectors vary in terms of amount of air flow, so its difficult to define what is normal for a specific model. However, you can simply hold a hand in front of the vent and see if there is air flow (It will be hot air so, careful). If there is a "good" stream of air things are fine, but if only a very light flow is felt the filter may be dirty.
If the filter has not been cleaned or replaced recently make sure the projector is turned off and cooled down then take off the inlet cover and remove the filter. Clean or replace per the instructions for the projector (and periodically as defined .. but taking into account the operating conditions). Once cleaned turn on the projector and feel the "normal" air current for future reference.
Heat is one of the major causes of projector failure, so make sure cooling vents (inlet and outlet) are not obstructed and filters are kept clean
