SOURCE: cant find audio out jacks

This TV has a headphone jack on the side (above the Side AV input), a digital audio output (SPDIF) in the main input/output panel (bottom facing down) and two pairs of +/- terminals for right and left speakers. The terminals are to the left of the power cord. The SPDIF port is between the PC in and the AV3 in.

The terminals are used for directly wired speakers. Usually these have a pair of flat wire cables and the ends may have different color insulation (red, black, white, white/black striped).

If the speaker bar uses RCA inputs then get a 3.5 mm (M) to RCA (2 female) adapter for use with an RCA audio cable or an audio cable with 3.5 mm M on one end and 2 RCA plugs on the other. Plug the 3.5 mm end into the headphone jack of the TV. If you use the headphone jack, the TV speakers will probably turn off automatically. For the other audio options, you will need to enter the menus to adjust the settings. Press Menu and then go to Sound for speakers attached to the terminals. Digital Audio is adjusted from the Installation Menu then go to the Source Menu.

If the sound bar has a digital audio input, you should use that SPDIF cable (not usually included with the sound bar or the TV).

For details and a picture of the jacks, see http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=37PFL5322D/37&slg=en&scy=US for the User's manual or the leaflet (both include diagram). The User's manual has the picture on 3 (Section 2:2).

I hope this helps.

Hello. I believe you are referring to the power supply. You could try replacing it, but there is a chance that it damaged the main board. The main board is next to impossible to find. Good luck!

Phillips model 37PFL5322D/37 was watching unit and just shut off--no click or pop, just shut off....unplugged power for 1 minute and tried to power up--nothing--will not power on...checked power...

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

My 37PFL5322D 37" LCD has no picture and no

If the set is responding to the remote or set-top buttons, this means only that the always-on low voltage supply for the remote section is working and that the main power supply has probably died. You might try pulling the AC plug overnight to see if there is simply a 'lockup' of an IC causing the non-response. Our modern sets are very complex and it isn't uncommon for them to have a glitch while operating.

Philips 37pfl5322d will not power up. Have tried unplugging for 10 minutes and pluggin back in. Still no power.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR POWER SUPPLY BOARD MIGHT HAVE SOME BLOWN CAPACITORS (CAPS). IF YOUR NOT FAMILIAR WITH ELECTRONICS I WOULD HAVE A TECH LOOK AT IT. ONLY BECAUSE IF YOU ACCIDENTLY TOUCH ONE OF THE CAPS INCORRECTLY YOU WILL END UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM.
