I recently setup my printer in my office where I am already hardwired to a HP Deskjet 9800 and networked to a HP LaserJet 5100 and HP DesignJet 500. The printer is copying and printing, but not scanning. When I try scanning, either by using the scan button or by using the HP Director, I get no response. Instead the power light flashes for about 30 seconds and then nothing. I tried loading the PSC software on my computer but it says a more recent version is already loaded. Assistance is greatly appreciated!!
For windows OS, trying going to start -> settings -> control panel -> Scanners and Cameras and use the wizard, this worked perfectly for me.
If you're using windows try using window's built in scanning camera wizard (this worked perfectly for my psc 1315). Go to Start -> settings -> control panel -> Scanners and Cameras
I have the same problem. I actually need to have the hp 1210 disc in the comp to reload the drivers after each restart of the comp...what a pain. After clicking on the HP Director icon hit alt+spacebar (2 times I think) then click minimize, move your mouse to the bottom taskbar and you should see the HP icon. Click that and it should work. The whole thing is irritating.
