Can a hitch be installed on a 2003 cougar

Best solution for you call an RV shop and ask them. Most hitch shops will tell you sure you can do it. But can you you really? Ask the people that sell these things for a living they will what you can or can`t install for a hitch and what you can haul with it. Hope this helps

How much weight for factory rear bumper want 2 put 2" ball on to haul a trailer?

Bumper hitch ... probably 1500 #. It should be stamped in the bumper. If you want more, get a frame mounted class 2 hitch if you have a heavier trailer. Check your owners manual for GVWR (gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and DO NOT EXCEED IT! If you don't have a owners manual, check on the driver side door post for this rating. If you don't see it there, go to your auto parts supply place which sells these hitches, they can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about hitches.

Here is another resource you can check: http://hitchestogo.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HTG&Product_Code=36244 It appears your vehicle is reated for a max Class II hitch. http://www.reesehitchestogo.com/trailer%20hitch/index.html

I hope you have found this information helpful. The courtest of a positive rating would be appreciated.

How do i install a type lll trailer hitch considering the plastic pan that is part of the rear bumper?

suggest you try looking at u-haul for a drop hitch that will solve your rear bumper issue.they also do installation world wide if needed and they are the top experts in the hitch industry.i recommend them all the time.i can't say enough about how great those guys are about hitch problem solving.they sell hitches all over the world as well as rent moving trucks.they can still sell you the hitch that you need without installing it themselves, but unless you're a pro. i suggest that you have it done professionally. your life is at risk greatly when towing with a type3 hitch. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

I have a 2003 Outback with factory installed hitch. The factory brake/turn light connector is set up for a U-Haul connector. U-Haul no longer uses that type of connector. I tried to splice in a standard...

You need a 3-2 wire converter. You could also install a plug and play connector such as the CURT 55370 if you have the wagon. If you are still having problems, click here to view an article i wrote on diagnosing wiring problems.

Can I put a trailor hitch on my Elantra. I want to tow a car dolly (empty)

They do sell a small hitch for light loads, I believe it is 1000 lbs tug weight max, that can be put on your vehicle. The best place to look for a professional installation would be someplace like pep Boys or U-Haul. I say this because of the way your bumper is made you can't really attach to that with a hitch. The hitch unit has to be welded to or bolted up to the frame itself which takes special equipment.

Does a 1994 buick centry come with a hitch and if not what is every thing that i need for a hitch

No it's doesn't come with a hitch. To put one on you'll need to know what capacity hitch you need, towing weight of what is to be towed. A wiring harness to connect to the vehicle's brake lights, taillights and turn signals. U-Haul sells and installs hitches.

Want to know the towing capacity for our truck

First off the 1997 F-250 HD with a 4.10 rear end will haul 14,900 lbs. The real question is do you have a receiver hitch or the rear bumper hitch. If you have the rear bumper hitch buy a receiver hitch that mounts to the frame a class 5 is usually put on these trucks. However a class 4 will work just fine for 6,000 lbs. The receiver hitch will have the capacity stated right on the hitch you just bend over and read it. It will give you two ratings one with weight distribution device and one without. You will be looking at the one without. That will fall somewhere between 6,000 and 12,000 lbs depending on the hitch manufacturer and the class. Hope this helps.

Headlights high beam light inside stay on

Do you have an aftermarket hitch?? I have seen a lot of issues with people having U-HAUL hitch installed with the convertor box. Whell, when the convertor box is installed, u-haul uses scotch locks, which after a while causes all kinds of electrical issues. including head light issues. Also check the convertor box. It may be faulty. Nissan make a very nice harness for the truck. no splicing needed. There is a single connector behind the bumper on passenger side. Get harness. That is if you have the u-haul convertor. If you dont, I would be looking at the head lamp switch.
