New to PA systems......

Hi, my name is Jason. I'm new to the Djing business and I don't know how to connect my PA system. The following items I purchased are listed below: 1 PV900 power amp 1 PV115 2-way passive speaker 1 PV14 mixer I understand the basics and the order in which they should be plugged in. I just don't what cables I need and where to connect them. Ok, this is what I did, I connected my midi player in the input of the mixer, plugged an xlr cable onto the output of the mixer and connected the end of that cable to the input of the power amp. I then connected the end of the TRS cable to the ouput of the amp and connected the other end to the input of the speakers. And I still didn't get any sound. There is a signal coming from the mixer and the music is playing, but still there is no sound. What did I do wrong? Can you please help me?

DIFFERENT MAKES OF EQUIPMENT USES DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONNECTORS ON THE INTERLINKING CABLES. THESE VARY FORM ONE MAKE TO THE OTHER. BUT THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE OF HELP TO YOU. YOUR SOURCES eg, CD PLAYERS, PROVIDE AN OUTPUT LINE LEVEL.. THESE BECOME  INPUTS TO YOUR MIXER. THE MAIN OUTPUTS OF THE MIXER GET FED INTO INPUTS OF THE AMPLIFIER. THE OUTPUT IF THE LATTER WOULD THE DRINE YOUR PASSIVE SPEAKERS.

REMEMBER FOR A FEED TO EXIST OUT OF THE MIXER YOUR MASTER CHANNELS SHOULD BE OPEN AS WELL. GOOD LUCK.

Mixer to P.A. system connection

You'll want to use the Stereo Out connections at the top right. You might need adapters to plug into whatever system you're trying to use. Also note that this mixer does not provide power, so the speakers you're using have to be self-powered or be driven by a separate amplifier. You would then plug the Stereo Out connections into the INPUTs of the amplifier.

Random Short Grinding/Buzzing Noise from my Notebook gets amplified through PA system!!! Don't know where it is coming from or when it will happen next!!!

try and blow out the laptop with compressed air as it could be your fan making noise, make sure to leave the laptop on a flat surface, and don't press too ******* the palm rest. i say this because i have a dell 1545 and the hard drive is located on the left side under the palm rest and if i apply too much pressure i hear a slight grinding noise. let me know if this helps and please tell me if you're near the machine when it does this grinding sound.

I want to tap RPM signal for a new tracking device I am installing. Where can i find the wire and what is the colour of the wire

Hi,
This signal wire can be taken directly from the back of the dash panel...it is the green/black trace wire. But you should follow the circuit on the back of the panel to ensure it goes to the RPM + SIG. circuit.
Also make sure that the device you are connecting can pick up the signal coming from the panel as some ignition system signals are very weak and the device my not be able to pick it up.
So let me know how you get on.. Thanks
Jason

I have a coolant leak springing from a T joint pipe that is connected by hoses, It seems to be a small hole that is causing the fluid to be sprayed onto the engine causing it to smoke. This happened...

Hi agentpayback, welcome, i think what your talking about is an after market item (reason you could not find a listing for it ) the purpose of it is to flush cooling system as the name implies ) from an auto parts store called a coolant system (radiator) flush kit, they are plastic and dont last for too long, its installed on the heater hose , 3/4 inch hose, (your radiator coolant runs thru the heater hose, thats how you have heat in the car in the winter ). get a new one and replace soon, it could get to be a bigger leak suddenly, keep it full of coolant in the meantime because you DO NOT want to over heat the engine. be sure to top off with coolant when finished installing new one and check for any new leaks and check the coolant level for next few days following until you know it is full. OK!!

Lost manual. I need to know how to hook a TDK-3826 dual recorder to a PA System at church to record the services and what CDs to use.

Hi wpless43!
The TDK-3826 supports analog input/output, digital coaxail input/output, and digital optical input/output. To connect a PA system, you'll have to determine what type of connection it uses. If your PA system uses an analog connection, it will have two audio cables, one for the left sound channel and one for the right channel. These are color coded and can be connected to analog connections on the back of recorder. Coaxail and optical connections are both single cable connections, and can be connected to their respective locations on the back of the recorder.

Regardless of the connection used, you'll want to connect one of the outputs of the PA system to the recorder if you want record. If you want to use the recorder to play back audio over the PA, you'll want to connect the output of the recorder to the input of your PA. Most PAs support multiple outputs and inputs, so you should be able to connect the recorder input and output at the same time.

You'll want to use CD-R/RW discs to record, but make sure they are audio discs (See image). joehaydu.jpg
You can find a copy of the manual for the TDK-3826 at http://audio.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/bd4c0d62-6f82-4bfb-bf83-8d832f3fe222.pdf. Hope that helps!

I need to buy a longer cord for my PA system system on my shuttle bus...the microphone has the following on it: Executive series 100 CB68A

Mike - it would probably help if you provide the name and model of the PA amplifier too... but even so:

It is doubtful that you'll be able to simply buy an "extension cord" to place between the end of the existing mic cord and the PA's mic jack. You could probably have a new, longer cord to replace the current short cord on your mic fairly easily. Since this would require soldering and use of special sheilded cables, you should probably have it done professionally. Just about any commercial or business radio shop should be able to swap the cord for one as long as you need.

I hope this helps.

VPN misconfigured after belkin router was configured XP

Hi Grahmmy..
I am myself a (cisco certified network associate)CCNA, we have configured several VPNs on XP, please try these steps and im sure you'll be able to reconfigure the Virtual private network on your XP...
  1. First open the control panel by clicking start, open the Network Connections item in Control Panel. A list of existing dial-up and LAN connections will appear.
  2. Choose the 'Create a new connection' item from the left-hand side of the window. The Windows XP New Connection Wizard will appear on the screen.
  3. First click Next to begin the wizard, then choose the 'Connect to the network at my workplace' item from the list and click Next.
  4. On the Network Connection page of the wizard, choose the 'Virtual Private Network connection' option and click Next.
  5. Enter a name for the new VPN connection in the 'Company Name' field and click Next. The name chosen need not match the name of an actual business.
  6. Choose an option on the 'Public Network' screen and click Next. The default option, 'Automatically dial this initial connection' can be used if the VPN connection will always be initiated when the computer is not already connected to the Internet. Otherwise, choose the 'Do not dial the initial connection' option. This option requires that the public Internet connection be established first, before this new VPN connection will be initiated.
  7. Enter the name or IP address of the VPN remote access server to connect to, and click Next. Company network administrators will provide this information.
  8. Choose an option on the "Connection Availability" screen and click Next. The default option, 'My Use Only,' ensures that Windows will make this new connection available only to the currently logged on user. Otherwise, choose the 'Anyone's use' option.
  9. Click Finish to complete the wizard. The new VPN connection information has been saved. Good luck ;-)

The manual of jason 200x telescope

Bushnell purchased Jason in 1992, they can refer you to a manual for similar products that they currently manufacture.
UNITED STATES
Bushnell Corporation
9200 Cody
Overland Park, KS 66214-1734
Important Phone Numbers:
In Kansas City area - (913) 752-3400
Consumers - (800) 423-3537
Dealers - (800) 221-9035
Fax - (913) 752-3550
There is no reference to Jason scopes on their website, here's some of the history if your interested: Jake Levin founded Jason/Empire, Inc. in 1947. Jake and his son,
****, started the business by importing binoculars from France, as
well as cigarettes and pearls from the Orient. The product was sold
to jewelry stores and catalog showrooms. The company's name was
created by shortening the name of Jake and Son, to get Jason. Empire
was the name of a brand of products the company sold. Jason's
original location was on the 8th floor of a building at 12th and
Walnut in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The company later moved to
a facility in Kansas City on Warwick Boulevard. As the business
continued to grow, **** was responsible for the expansion and
evolution of the binocular and telescope business into a major
competitor in the U.S. Sports optics market.
Carson Companies, Inc. of Minneapolis acquired Jason/Empire, Inc. in
1977. In 1987, Jason introduced the Perma Focus binocular. This
patented binocular eliminated the need for focusing and revolutionized
the binocular industry. GlassOn, the first binocular exclusively for
eyeglass wearers, was introduced in 1991. The eyeglass wearer could
obtain a wide angle, full field of view when using the binoculars
while wearing eyeglasses. Other innovations included: the graphite
binocular, upscale consumer packaging, **** packaging, the Easy
Track telescope mount, and the telescope dual-position diagonal
eyepiece.

In 1992, Bausch & Lomb a.k.a. Bushnell, purchased Jason from Carlson
Companies and moved the sports optics operation to the current
facility in Overland Park, Kansas. The name of the division was
changed from Bushnell to Bausch & Lomb Sports Optics Division.

Bausch & Lomb divested the Sports Optics Division in 1995 and Bushnell
became a wholly owned subsidiary of Worldwide Sports & Recreation, Inc
(WSR). WSR was a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of
brand name sporting goods and outdoor-recreational products.

Since then, Bushnell has changed hands again and the Jason name has
been discontinued. It is no longer used in new products produced by
Bushnell and many of the more popular models were simply rebranded as
Bushnell models.
