MFC7860DW PRINTER. USB CONNECTED TO DELL OPTIPLEX 380/ WIN 7 64 BIT. UNABLE TO PRINT. fax receiving data msg on printer display. Tried may fixes offered by Brother and other articles. Nothing works

'Unable to print' is to broad to know what's wrong.

You get a fax receiving data msg every time you try to print? Try reinstalling/updating the software.

The printing head moves as if it's printing and nothing comes out on the paper (I assume there is ink on cartridges) maybe the printer was sitting for too long and ink cristalized, going through several 'cleaning' cycles might fix it.

Hope it helps.

HP wireless printer will ot connect to computer

Please provide information about the printer model. Most printers will connect to your local WIFI via your access point such as a wireless modem provided by your internet provider. The printer does not connect directly with the computer, but the two communication points can be defined so the communication can take place. You'll need to do take some setup steps to get them talking.

We've got the Dlink DES-1008D setup in our office. Since the past 3 weeks, we've been facing disconnection problems. 5 desktop computers, all new and very recent, are connected to this. We've got an...

Ok, the next time when the disconnection occurs. Try the following:

Open command prompt. And try pinging, if the ping is successful and you are still unable to access the internet, then you may want to check the proxy settings on your web broswer, or possibly repair/reinstall the browser. You can also try accessing the internet on a different browser.

If you are unable to ping google successfully, then try to ping the IP address of your wifi modem, this is your default gateway. If you are unable to ping this address successfully, then check the cable from the DES-1008D switch to the wifi modem. As a local area connection 'connected' just shows that the link from your PC to switch is fine.

Please try these steps and let me know the results.

Unable to connect to the internet with my linksys wrt120n router through my at&T modem. The AT&T router works fine by itself. But will not communicate with the Linksys router

If you connect the computer directly to the AT&T modem , it work. That means the modem is working properly.
AT&T is DSL connection type. the DSL connection works on 2 different modes. 1) DHCP 2) PPPOE.
Now you will need to connect the modem and the computer to the router. open the set up page of the rotuer.
The set up page is the page where you can change the settings of the router.
According to the type of internet connection you can change the settings of the router

How do i set up without the installation cd

Try this after you've pressed the small reset button on your router follow this procedure:
  1. Turn off your modem, routers, computer, and wifi receivers, and laptops and printers on the network.
  2. Connect the Wifi router with an internet cable to the modem. The router will have an internet input port (ethernet) that should be labeled differrent than the rest of the ethernet ports on the router. Plug the ethernet into the internet or modem port on the router, and to the modem...DON'T TURN THE MODEM ON YET.
  3. Turn your router's power on and let it cycle up.
  4. Then after the router is up, turn on your modem and let it cycle up. It will find your router as the main MAC address and this will establish communication between router and the internet via modem.
  5. After your modem is cycled and all lights are correct, you can turn on any computer, printer etc... and the router will assign MAC addresses to your printer etc while maintaining a proper internet connection.
that's all you should need...Since you already have a working modem to pc... remember this "firing order" and if you have a power outage or have to move again, you'll be good to go.
