SOURCE: My thermador dw44zs dishwasher:

There are a few possibities...
if you remove the lid and take the two t20 screw off the left side panel at the front you could check the pressure chamber and its hose are not blocked. Use the link and go to page 4, part 0426 and 0424. You can also remove 0418 (remove t20 screw via the sump after all filters are removeds) this will expose the pump impellor and you can check for any obstruction. If the d/w is connected via a sealed spigot to the sink, remove the grey hose and unscrew the spigot adaptor from the sink and ensure there are no blockages. There may be water in the base of the d/w (base as below the tank, not under the filter) this will activate the flood safety, so check valve, hoses etc for leaks. You will have to manually clear the water from the base pan to deactivate the safety device. Sit the front of the d/w on a large towel and tip the whole unit forward, the base water will then come out. Whilst you have the side panel off, check that the red rod connected to the pressure chamber is not activating the microswitch.

Hi, It runs and will not complete. Just keeps washing? Bernie

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

**What I`m about to share applies to All B/S/H/ dishwashers. That includes Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau and Siemens.**

Based on your description I know what the problem is, though you may not like it. I would still start by checking your water inlet temperature, the unit must be connected to a "hot" water supply line. Try running the hot water at your sink tap to insure the cold water is out of the lines just before you turn on the dishwasher.

That is just a suggestion out of courtesy however...

If it is what I suspect, the control, this won't make any difference but it's worth a try. If on the other hand the water is good and hot entering the machine, you likely have an issue with the control as I alluded to.

The reason your dishwasher never completes a cycle is the control has detected a heating error. Here`s the most likely reason why it has detected the error...

Even if your home water supply appears hot, it's not hot enough and must be heated by the dishwasher to insure a proper clean and dry.

The issue with your dishwasher likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is why it runs forever unless you "stop" it or by pressing the two buttons for "cancel".

To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit runs on and on ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water.

**Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries.

Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied.

Good luck.

DW245UW stays on wash cycle forever, unless I cycle it manually

A good chance is that the heater is either not heating up or not reaching temperature.

This is a common fault that stop the dishwasher from advancing.

Dishwasher cycles are taking too long

usaully water temperature is the major reason why a dishwasher takes longer this could be due to the water tank.To verify this open hot water valve and let it run on your hand and count the seeconds it takes to get so hot your hand has to pull out. Between 10 to 20 sec normal, 20 to 30 means dishwasher has to heat it up and this takes longer but acceptable. 30 to 60 this would really impact the time of your cycles. Now regarding the sauce pans this surprises me this could be the dishwasher internal water heater which would let be belive that water level is too low or even absent you need to let it fill up and while it is operating stop it open the door and see if water covers the heater. I do recomend that you schedule a technical service expert to verify your unit

Very long cycle as before

If your dishwasher's cycle times are too long, check these:

Water pre-heating
Cycle not completing
Water pre-heating Yourdishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering thedishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat thewater.

To avoid the wait, increase the incoming watertemperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running thekitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase thetemperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot waterheater.

Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
