I got the same TV for my stepdaughter and had the same problem. None of the Emerson codes worked. We use Dish Network but I did the autoscan thing on the remote and found that it was 672 which is listed as a Sylvania. I don't know if it will help in your case but maybe try the Sylvania codes. Good luck.

It could well be your remote control has a problem. Try removing the batteries from the remote control and see if the problem goes away, if it does, try new bateries on the remote controller, if that does not work you may have to get a new remote controller

If it only goes up or only down that is fairly easy to find.
if goes up and down both what is hooked to it for signal and how--cable etc and via rear jacks or coax fitting from (are you using a box?)
A simple test is to connect a DVD etc. to one of the rear inputs and see if same problem that way.
