Hi, It seems that optical laser block gets fail to read data on disc and possible cause could be dirty/ clogged lens or optical laser block failure. Put lens cleaning disc in unit to clean optical lens and check DVD playback, if that does not solve the issue then optical laser block would be defective and requires replacement that would cost approx new player price. Hope these info will help. Thanks.
The disc drive is not reading and so after it tries on for some time the drive does not detect and so fails to read. You can try and clean the optical lens unit manually using an ear bud with delicate wipes on the lens eye. If this wont change the error then the optical unit is faulty and will need a change.
HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.
You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.
