Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Printer was working fine for a few weeks then for the past 4-5 days i have been having to restart my computer for the printer to print anything in the queue. upon restart everything in queue prints. but nothing prints automatically. i have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and i have taken it off usb and onto wifi with no help.
Go to 'printers and faxes' in control panel, make sure the Dell v510 is the 'default printer'.

I have this exact same problem, but when I replaced the black ink cartridge it worked for 3 days. Now it isn't recognized. The printer icon has a big question-mark over the black ink cartridge. Replacing it with another cartridge does nothing.
My solution. Throw out the darn thing and buy a laser jet. Paying for ink is too expensive anyway.

Download and install the new software and printer firmware from kodak.com (link below - firmware and software is the same for all the 5000 units). Do not use the CD, and Uninstall all previous versions before installing the new software you download from the site.
I hope this helps. If you still have problems respond to this message with what happens and I will try and get you more help

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.
PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.
Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.
Thank you so much.

Canceling print jobs can be frustrating - slow even when it works. Follow these steps exactly, and you're home free.
(I'm assuming you use XP, and if XP Pro that you have administrator permissions.)
- Start Button
- Accessories > Administrative Tolls > Services
- Click one time on Print Spooler in the list of services on the right (they are alphabetical)
- In the column on the left, click "Restart"
- When the progress bar diappears, you should be OK.
