Mouse Problem

First, let's see if the computer is recognizing the mouse. Unplug the mouse, restart the computer, and then re-plug the mouse. Typically, the computer, in the bottom right side of the screen will attempt to re-establish connection to the mouse.

If it does not, then re-downloading the driver for the mouse (if a disc was not provided with it) will help the computer recognize the mouse and the connection.
Hope that helps.

My mouse doesn't work on my laptop

for some mouses, there is an installation cd and you should install before you connect your mouse in usb slot.

If there is no installation CD then the wire connecting mouse to usb must have been ruptured

How do I connect this keyboard to the computer

Keyboards connect several ways. Older systems use a PS/2 connector (round) that plugs into the purple/gray jack on the back of the computer. The mouse plugs into the green jack next to it.
If you have a USB keyboard, it plugs into any USB slot.
PS/2 connections must be made with the computer off. USB connections work any time. If one slot doesn't work, try another.
If the keyboard doesn't work, try another.

MOUSE WILL NOT WORK

You haven't said what kind of mouse you have or whether it used to work.
I'll offer some suggestions for the most common problems:
If it used to work but now doesn't, try a system restore back to when it did work.
If that doesn't work--are you using a wireless mouse? If so, are the batteries fresh and are they inserted correctly?
If you are using a wireless mouse, have you pushed the little "connect" button on the bottom?
You haven't said, but is the other mouse a wireless one or a USB mouse? If your USB mouse doesn't work, try another USB port. If you go into the device manager, do you see a "human interface device" or a "mouse" listed? If so, it will tell you the system recognizes the device. If that is missing, there is a good chance the mouse is dead.

How do i re-connect my wireles mouse? I can not find directions and I am away from home!!

Hello there.

To reconnect your wireless mouse here is what you should do:

1. Be sure your computer is turned on.
2. Connect the receiver with the USB connector.
3. Be sure you have batteries in your mouse. The synchronization will start automatically.
4. If synchronization doesn't start automatically, press the connect button on the receiver then press the connect button on the bottom side of the mouse for ten seconds.

Thanks for using Fixya!

Jumping mouse cursor

Elsamma, If you are positive keeping the cable stationary prevents the problem try this: Try holding the mouse connector stationary and wiggle the cable. If the problem occurs then the connection between the mouse connector/cable is defective, due to the low value of this mouse the fix would typically be replacing rather than repair. If that doesn?t work try wiggling the mouse connector where it plugs into the PC. If this causes the problem to reappear then either your mouse connector or the PC socket is damaged. Try another mouse and if the problem goes away, again the fix would be to replace the mouse. If a new mouse doesn?t fix the problem then there is a good chance the PS2 connector is damaged. At this point I would purchase a USB mouse which should solve your problem Let us know how things go and if you need any more assistance.
