Depends if it's adjustable or not remove mower deck and look at motor shaft you'll see clutch (it's got a wire going to it) if three springs are held in with rivets then it's not adjustable you'll need to relpace it if it's got three phillips head screws then in a alternate pattern try tighting each one half a turn and test it , if screws bottom out replace clutch
