Question about Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan. Chateau Deville 52 in. Deville Walnut

1 Answer

Hampton Bay Chateau Deville with remote stuck in high. Remote works fine for light with dimmer, but will not turn off fan or change speed. Stuck on high.

Have tried replacing battery in remote. Have turned off at breaker panel for possible reset. The light on the fan works fine and dimms and brightens fine. But fan speed is stuck on high, and will not repond to remote to change the speed from high to med or low speed. Have changed frequency codes on both fan and remote. Stuck on high speed

When you had the batteries out of the remote, did you press all the buttons to be sure one is not stuck? Also, this could be a button failure.

Testimonial: "Gracias, y Comprende on the stuck button theory..however have another matching fan in close proximity set on different frequency codes with no problems and they are on seperate remotes. Done all the troubleshooting that is possible noted aboe and have determined it is the non factory installed receiver in the fan assembley , which can be replaced by odering it online."

SOURCE: Installing a Hampton Bay Trieste ceiling fan, and I don't know where to locate the remote receiver. It doesn't seem to fit in the canopy or the fan base. It is rectangle shaped about the size

If it's a thin rectangular receiver (probably has UC7067 printed on it) It "slides" into the mounting bracket up by the electrical box. If this doesn't help you can call toll free 1-866-600-3267 at http://www.fanmanlighting.com/default.asp and ask for Jack Jr

It's possible the fan is in reverse and some fans will not on function faster or lower speeds, check for a switch on the side of the fan just above the blades.

My Hampton Bay ceiling fan runs only on high speed and the remote has stopped working even after changing the batteries. Does Hampton Bay have a life time warranty?

Yes, look up www.hamptonbay.com and get their contact number from them. It sounds like your transmitter (Remote) has failed. If it were the receiver the fan would most likely not work at all.

Fan goes from low to high and also won't shut off via remote!

Your pull chain selector switch may need replacing. pick it up at your local electrical supply house. Make sure you don't change the light switch for a dimmer switch.

nothing wrong with the power supply, or the remote, the speed switch in the fan is faulty, as it is more finiky than a manual speed change(like with a cable)

The remote is a Hampton Bay remote that should dim the light and fan on and off. I replaced the battery and do not have a red light when I press the button. Light and fan does not turn off with remote.

Hampton bay fan, wall mount remote control

Hello burrow31. There maybe a switch located on the fan stating 'remote/manual'. Check your manual. Remove the battiers in your remote and short out the battery contact terminals. Reinstall the battiers, start the fan and after fan has reached set speed press & hold fan speed button for one second. Still no speed change contact the Mgfr. with model & serial #.

Hampton Bay 54 In. 5-Blade with remote control at wall.

1. Set the remote to run the fan on high.
2. Pull the fan speed chain until the fan reaches high speed.
3. All speeds should work normally now.
The remote is modulating the maximum speed as set by the pull chain.
