How to remove the instrument cluster cover 98 chevy cavalier

The cover-is that like a bezel? Older cars always used screws to hold the bezel in place. On lots of newer, the bezel or cover just has plastic clips that snap into holes or slots. If you see no visible screws, try pulling the cover off, starting at one end. Once the cover is off, you can see the screws that hold the cluster to the instrument panel.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal process, noting the following:
    1. After the electrical connection is secure and the antenna cable is connected, find the radio locator tab.
    2. If the locator tab is difficult to align to the instrument panel locator opening, pull the radio towards you and reposition the antenna cable.

  2. Install the trim plate bezel.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Unlock the THEFTLOCK® radio (if applicable).
  5. Program the radio stations back into the radio as recorded at the beginning of this procedure (if applicable).

I need to replace globe on instrument panel. How do I dismantle the dashboard in order to get to the globe. I have a 1994 Ford Falcon ED Futura Cheers

the instructions are as follows:-- The dash on a Ford is made up of numerous trim panels that help contain the instrument panel, cluster and other components. You will likely need to remove any to all dash panels to work on any parts in the front of the truck, and you will need to remove some panels first to remove others. Please note that the removal procedure can vary greatly depending on the model year of your car. 1) Disconnect the truck's negative battery cable by peeling back the insulator if one is equipped and loosening the clamp nut for the black cable with a wrench. Set this cable aside so it won't accidentally come into contact with the battery post during the dash removal.2Remove the driver's-side knee bolster by removing the two screws located at the bottom (they should require a Phillips-head screwdriver) and prying around the top of the panel with a trim stick, flat screwdriver or other dull, flat-bladed tool to release the panel from its clips.3)Unscrew the screws for the instrument cluster bezel, which surrounds the cluster and steering column; these screws are at the two lower corners. Use the trim stick to release the bezel's clips at the top end, pry it off and disconnect any electrical connectors attached to it. You may need to remove the steering wheel in order to remove this bezel.4)Work the trim stick or other flat tool around the entire edge of the instrument panel center bezel--which surrounds the stereo and heater/air conditioner controls--to release it from its clips. This one panel has no screws to remove.5)Remove the screws for the upper finish panel, which aren't accessible until you remove the instrument panel bezel, and remove the panel from the dash.6)Open up the glove compartment door. Press the two sides of the compartment inward until until its bumpers clear the stops. Remove the fasteners at the bottom of the box to remove the glove compartment.7)Remove the pushpin fasteners that secure the center brace cover at the bottom of the panel and remove the panel. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Need to replace instrument cluster/AC bulbs

Hello, You can obtain a 2004 Ram Factory Service Manual with all of that information available from Promanuals.net. The reason why it may be so important is because right before the removal instructions the service manual has diagnostic instructions to try. There are numerous pages on removing the instrument cluster, and cluster bezel.

(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable. (For Airbag)

(2) Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument
panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
CLUSTER BEZEL - REMOVAL).

(3) Remove the four screws that secure the instrument
cluster to the instrument panel structural support
(Fig. 5).

(4) Pull the instrument cluster rearward far
enough to access and disconnect the instrument
panel wire harness connectors for the cluster from
the connector receptacles on the back of the cluster
housing.

(5) Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument
panel.
