Question about Computers & Internet
I have new router ZyXEL Keenetic GIGA II. May be it's not bad, but it doesn't turn up:-( Just that f..g button was inserted not working obviously. I have to short this button. Right now i don't have tester to determine suitable contacts. Could anyone point me they? https://plus.google.com/photos/117656213542387417839/albums/5948771464744515025?authkey=CLqEkars5ajVswE
Unless you have no other options I would recommend replacing your router. Really can't recommend shorting anything to force something to work as it may damage your equipment or injure or kill you. If your are an experienced tech and are confident you can do it safely, you may be able to take the unit apart and solder another switch in place or simply solder a bridge across the contacts. you may be able to find a shematic but if it is a simple swich, it should not be hard to determine how to short the contacts once you can see them plainly. If this is a new router, why not return it for a replacement? Hope this helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If a LAN connected PC will not work while a wireless laptop is connected you need to go into advanced router setup, bandwidth management, and untick the three boxes labeled "active" to disable the band width management. Easy!

If the same thing is happening with the USB WIFI on the PC. This sounds like a problem with your PC rather than your router. Is your antivirus / spyware scanner up to date? If not up date it and run a full system scan. Also you should check to see if your Firewall is up to date, and that the wireless network you are connecting to is included in the safe zone area of your firewall.
1 more thing if you are using a Thrid party firewall (i.e. Norton, Zone Alarm, McAfee, Etc.) Make sure Windows Firewall is deactivated (in Conntrol Panel) having 2 firewalls on can lead to random problems

Do you have a static IP to portforward with? i would not recommend DMZ because most routers lie - they still use a firewall even with DMZ.
