The scale displays 8888 every time you stand on it. If you go to choose p1 it flashes data. Can seem to get the scale to reset using the instructions and removing batteries does nothing

I have a "Thinner" scale. You have to put a little weight on it to activate, it will show 8888. Don't step on, wait a few seconds and it will change to 0000, then step on.

I have the Salter Scales model 2040, it is currently sent to oz, do you know how to change to grams as there is only 1 button. thanks

Hi,
I just had a play with mine as I wanted to change the weight mode too.
The solution is this:
While the machine is OFF, press and hold the button for about 5-10 seconds.
The display will go from 8888 to show the weight measurement (lb oz) at the top of the display.
Press the button to select the weight you want.
You should be able to continue with your baking :o)
Hope this helps

i found out that the button that warms up the steamer also has another function. if you start with the machine completely shut off but still plugged in, and press and hold the steam button, it gives you instructions for descaling and walks you through the process, telling you what to do at each step until you are done. so i did it and just finished a few minutes ago.
