Question about Vizio SV471XVT 47 in. LCD TV
Vizio SV471XVT when turned off at power switch the front Vizio logo display light flashes orange and makes an electrical noise in conjunction with the light flashing. When powered on, the noise goes away and the light stays solid orange. I'm trying to figure out if this in an inverter, power board issue or something else with the Vizio display logo light. Volume up/down work with buttons on side of tv but no longer with any remote control.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

stored voltages are high no touching these circuts becuase they hold charges and alot of screws.
fualty capacitors you say after a while it stays on theres a full charge in the unit theres some type of discharging effect on the set after its off for a while. voltage goes to low or unstable after it is off for a while. your better off getting the service docs for this set if you want to diy..other wise get a tv tech to check it for you. hope this helps

SOURCE: Orange light is all I get.
99 percent its the mainboard not the powerboard, especially if you have amber led. The mainboard swap is pretty simple if you can get the parts.

SOURCE: I have a 32" vizio.
Right now the 5vdc standby power supply section is working, but the rest may not be working, check to see if you do have 24vdc feeding the backlight inverter board and no bad caps, if not, try disconnecting the power cable to the inverter to see if you get the 24vdc back. The TV should come on without the inverter connected, you will get sound but no picture, then you can try to repair or replace the inverter board. Unless the you may have problems with the main board, but you need to check all the voltages and signals first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
