Have you cleaned out the air filter lately? If all tune ups have been done you may be running too lean, there should be adjustment screws to make a bit more rich, you will have to play with it and listen to the sound to get the best results.

When go to cut engine is runnig but chain stops when touch the tree

Hi Pam:
Using chain saws takes a bit of getting used to, and it can be DANGEROUS.
- The chain must be sharp to be able to cut properly, and a sharp chain "bites" into the wood.
- Before you touch the chain into the wood, you have to speed up the engine. This takes some getting used to.
- Try this technique: With the chain about an inch above where you want to cut, squeeze the throttle about half way so the chain is spinning. Touch the chain to the wood and increase the engine speed as the chain starts to cut. The harder you cut, the more power you need to apply.
After a while it gets to be second nature.
Work Safe, and get an experienced friend to help with some "hands on" coaching.
Cheers.

Chainsaw erratic - starts - won't start - dies at steep angle

My chainsaw was erratic. Sometimes it started and ran just fine and at other times it just refused to start or died as I raised it to cut a limb. What I finally realized is that chainsaws are different than other 2 cycles engine devices - they have to work at many different angles (including straight up). For that reason, the fuel filter that is in the gas tank is weighted to keep it at the bottom of the gas tank as you raise and/or lower the chainsaw.
On my Mccullough, the gas line broke right at the weighted filter, allowing the gas line to flop around. That's why it was erratic and died when I raised it to cut a limb. So, if you have erratic operation, take a minute to check your gas filter and be sure it's still attached to the gas line......

Husqvarna 65l starts racing after two cuts then cuts out

Hello John , I would suggest you remove the muffler. Between the muffler and the cylinder is a spark arrester screen. Hold the edge of the screen with a pair of pliers and burn off the carbon from the screen with a propane torch. Reinstall muffler and screen after it cools down. I hope this helps.

Model 445 chainsaw. Was cutting all day and no problem. Good gasoline, Husqvarna 2 cycle oil. All of a sudden started racing like the carb was stuck full open even when throttle trigger released. Then...

Engine speeding up on idle is normally due to an air leak, check the carb securing screws are tight, if you have a leaking crank seal it will be a shop repair.

Chainsaw starts works for about a minute two mnutes cuts out at high rev

That is the sign of out of fuel, Mine races when it runs out, you must have a clogged up fuel line, Take off the back cover, get the fuel line off at the carb and blow through it. Peek inside the fuel tank and see if there is anything floating around.
