Question about KitchenAid KHTU165RSS Stainless Steel Kitchen Hood

Hood lights not working

Hi. I have a KHTU 165 model and my lights don't work. Replaced them a few times, but now even with replacing they don't work. There is flow, and the vent fan works fine. Have you heard of this issue before?

Bad main logic board. Probably won't be able to find it. You can try Encompas Parts. Good Luck to you.

Hood fan and light suddenly do not work. there is power to the unit. where can I get it serviced?

Unfortunately a service cal to have it repaired is often more expensive that replacing the unit yourself. All new units come with instructions and it is an easy item to take down and replace. Just make sure you turn the power off before do the work.

Most repair shops don't even attempt to repair the standard range hood, because troubleshooting time and then finding the right part can eat up more time than a replacement would be.

Sorry for the bad news, but you would be money ahead to replace versus repairing unless it is a very high end range hood.

Model 41.000-L range hood. Fan is getting electricity (very soft hum), but fan won't turn. Must it be replaced, or can it be cleaned, or ????

Hi,
Sometimes they can be cleaned and oiled and they will work again...
Cleaning the grease and dust with out ruining the motor is the tricky part...
Take the unit apart as much as possible...spray down the fan part with a degreaser or strong cleaner...let it soak and they spray it down with water to rinse it off...
Then work a few drops of light motor oil into the motor by proping up the fan so that the oil will run down the shaft and into the motor...

then get it running smoothly by working it by hand...

Put it all back together and it should work again...

The hood to my Ford Explorer will not latch down when trying to close the hood. What can I do?

hi try working the hood open handle backwards and forwards a few times if that dont work then when you have got the hood open if you look where the catch is at the front you should see where the cable runs and the part that the cable pulls, get hold of this with some grips and push it into the lock possition this will then allow you to close the hood, really the cable needs taking off and cleaning and oiling or even replacing if its fraid

Will not restart at times after running.dash lights come on and windows work and radio works.want do anything in start mod

Hi, you need to check the battery connections first of all. the side post batteries on chevrolets have a tendency to come loose all by themselves, if it is loose tighten it up and that should solve the problem, if it is tight you may have a bad spot in the starter motor that requires the starter to be replaced. you can get a new starter at any auto parts store for around $165.

Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with several of the jenn air models. I have replaced quite a few and have also talked to thier tech line for servicers and they don't have anything else to offer other than replacing the control board. Each time I ran across one I found no other problems and I tested everything. If you replace 3 times you can usually get them to give you a new one.
