SOURCE: how do you remove the
Hi, I will talk you through the steps of taking a hard drive out of any desktop computer.
Precautions: do not touch any of the inside circuitory as this can damage the computer via static
Lay the computer on a flat surface with plenty of room and locate the screws which need to be unscrewed to open the case
Once you have got the case open you will need to locate the hard drive, the easiest way to do this is by looking for a red cable known as an ATA cable
It will look something like this http://www.consolemaniacs.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=114
Follow this cable from the motherboard until you find the hard drive, it should look something like this http://tinyurl.com/6jzndw5
Once you have located this, it will be screwed into the case, you will need to unscrew it and this is how you remove it, you will need to unplug any attachments the hard drive has to the motherboard (insides of the computer). Once it has been unscrewed and unplugged remove the hard drive from the inside and that is the job done.
I hope this helps if you have anymore questions please ask.

take the side off the case, it should be fairly easy to find the screws or knobs to unscrew to remove it. depending on the case type there are usually 4 screws holding the hard drive; 2 on either side, then you should be able to slide it out. you can look here http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_8244498_install-drive-acer-aspire-desktop.html for reference
