Dishwasher keeps tripping circuit breaker

By vivleigh86 on Oct 09, 2007

Hi,

I have a Frigidaire dishwasher less than three years old, on a dedicated circuit in our electrical panel. Lately, the dishwasher has been tripping the circuit breaker (with a loud "pop") while in the middle of a load. I am not using the heating element, nor am I doing anything differently that I have in the past, when the washer worked flawlessly. Any idea what can be causing this? I can reset the breaker and resume the load, but the breaker pops again within minutes.
