before you operate the dishwasher get your water as hot at the sink as you can this will prevent filling the dish washer with cold water and i would use powder or liquid now if you not sure of your heating element turn your washer to dry close the door for about 2-3 minutes get a glass of cold water open the door and pour water on the element if it sizzles its working

Hi,
I followed some of the good instructions already on Fixya. I had checked the heater and it was o.k. I then took the front door of the washer apart to get at the control box. Sure enough, I also had the common design fault. One leg of the rely had scorch marks and was now disconnected from the circuit board. I will solder tonight and test. I include a photo of the burned board. TNoel P8017c86.jpg

Check to see if the heat element in the bottom inside is all crusty or cracked, if so replace, if not, unplug unit from house current, pull bottom toe panel off, you should see where heat element comes thru cabinet and has two wires attached, remove wires, take ohm meter and check for reading, if reading is ok then you either have bad control timer circuit (main board) or blown thermal fuse. Call tech to check further if you do not have original tech sheet or electrical background. My bet is that you have a bad heat element.

Remove the kickplate at the bottom of your dishwasher and see what error you are getting. Likely a leak error.Dishwasher likely has leaked into drip pan underneath. Unfortunately, you need to remove dishwasher and flip onto back and remove 3 phillips screws that hold drip pan in place. Install "leak kit" to correct leak problem with this model of dishwasher. Dishlex 302 leaks from underneath

Good Morning Friend,

This appears to be a UK Electrolux dishwasher; however, if you have a US Electrolux model, here are a few tips you can attempt to troubleshoot the issue: First, Use only fresh detergent designed for automatic dishwashers. Measure detergent carefully. Possibly try a different brand of detergent. Secondly, spilled rinse aid can cause foam and lead to overflowing. Wipe up any spills with a damp cloth. Lastly, check to see if your dishwasher is level. If your dishwasher is still leaking, after trying the above solutions, I suggest contacting the manufacturer for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-

What does L1 error code mean on an Electrolux dishwasher

The only solution I can come up with for this one is that L1 is a Leak Detector problem-When water is detected under the tub. I spent an hour researching this issue. I've never come across this one before.

I've got an electrolux dishwasher and the heating element appears to have failed. Can I get a spare part and install it myself?

You do not have to be suspecting unless it is taken out and tested using a multimeter. If there is not continuity of the coils or if there is a short in the coil to the body then the heating element is faulty. If not the switch on relay is faulty.
The same type element must be bought from your Electrolux dealer. Please check if there is any help from the link below for spares; Get elements from :

No water entering dishwasher electrolux 602

First is water coming into the location and is the valve to the dishwasher open? Next check if the intake hose is bent or squashed. Release the kink blocking water flow.

There is a filter in the intake hose that can get blocked by debris. Turn off the water (at the supply valve) then disconnect the intake hose. Clean the filter. Reconnect the hose and turn the water back on. Check for leaks.

The manual for the unit is available here: http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/electrolux/esi_602.html .

I hope this helps.

Electrolux error code 1, how to reset.

Also got error code 01. Unplugged dishwasher, turned off water supply, disconnected water supply line at sink so it had slack to pull dishwasher out of built-in space, removed two wood screws holding dishwasher to counter, pulled it out onto floor, put it on blocks as reader suggested, tilted to side 45 degrees, water drained out onto rags. Then restored to upright, restored supply line and opened valve at sink, plugged back in, unit automatically reset, returned to built-in, reinstalled screws to counter. Worked like a charm. Took more time to read everyone's advice than to do the job (about 30 min.). Thanks.
