SOURCE: Dishwasher insulation for heat

Hi marseibold,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your questoin is: You're wondering if you can further insulate your dishwasher for heat. You are redoing your kitchen, new appliances, cabinets, etc. and shortsightedly put the spice sliding pull-out cabinet next to the dishwasher. The spices get warm when you use the dishwasher. There is a bit of room between the cabinet and dishwasher. Any recommendations for further insulation?

Yes. I would get another insulation blanket off a d/w I'm disposing. Anyway, you need to get one and install it over the old one to decrease the heat transfer.

Washer is filling with clean water

Yes, the water inlet valve is leaking and letting water in past a faulty seal. The valve just needs replacing with a new one. They are not serviceable.

Bosch SHU4006 UC/06 Dishwasher will not fill with water and timer does not advance. Voltage to Water Valve Solenoid does not toggle when timer knob is manually advanced through all cycles.

Hello,

If you have power to water valve when it is supposed to fill yet doesn't the water valve is bad, as long as their is a good water supply to the valve. Sometimes espically if it has one of those flexible stainless steel braided hoses something in cabinet could have pinched it,

Good luck,i hope this helps

ESL624 dishwasher. On any cycle the machine stops after about a minute or 2. Its as if it cuts out for some reason, It pumps out but it doesn't get to the point where it starts letting water in....

Hi

If the water inlet valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

No water entering dishwasher electrolux 602

First is water coming into the location and is the valve to the dishwasher open? Next check if the intake hose is bent or squashed. Release the kink blocking water flow.

There is a filter in the intake hose that can get blocked by debris. Turn off the water (at the supply valve) then disconnect the intake hose. Clean the filter. Reconnect the hose and turn the water back on. Check for leaks.

The manual for the unit is available here: http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/electrolux/esi_602.html .

I hope this helps.

Electrolux error code 1, how to reset.

Also got error code 01. Unplugged dishwasher, turned off water supply, disconnected water supply line at sink so it had slack to pull dishwasher out of built-in space, removed two wood screws holding dishwasher to counter, pulled it out onto floor, put it on blocks as reader suggested, tilted to side 45 degrees, water drained out onto rags. Then restored to upright, restored supply line and opened valve at sink, plugged back in, unit automatically reset, returned to built-in, reinstalled screws to counter. Worked like a charm. Took more time to read everyone's advice than to do the job (about 30 min.). Thanks.

WATER WILL NOT COME OUT...RUNS THRU CYCLE WITH NO WATER

Hello there:
There are several things here that will cause this to happen
first try to clean ALL of the filters refer to your owners manual for the location of all of them
check to see if the machine is still getting water to the supply hoses bu puling the machine out and checking the hoses remove them and see if ther is water going to them.
If so than you have a water supply solinoid valve that has possibly failed and is in need of replacement to find out if this is working once you turn on your machine and select the first cycle if you do not hear a clicking sound than you know your solinoid is not working which means there is no water getting to the machine.
These solinoid valves fail in the closed position ok?
Now if you do definatly hear the clicking sound than you are having a
timer that is going bad (But i dont think this is your problem cause you stated it works in the cycles but just no water ok?
So i would definatly look at a water supply solinoid valve being the culprit ok? this is a very easly changed out and it cost about 30 dollars
I hope This has been very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Does not get water

hELLO THERE:
when you do not get any water you need to first check to see that the unit is getting water to it and if it is than check out the water supply solinoid valve if this has failed they fail in the closed position and will not let any water into the unit.
now if this solinoid valve checks out ok than there is a failure on the dishwashers front panel controle board that operates the timer and cycle ok
So what i would do first is to unplug the machine for at least 30 minutes and then plug it back in and see if you hear a click if not you know the solinoid valve is not working have it checked out than follow the previous suggestions that i posted here for you
ok
I hope these have been very helpful for you
Best regards mike
