SOURCE: FREEZER WORKING - FRIDGE NOT WORKING

Ok, got it sussed! [well here's what I did anyway]...

Quite simply, I turned off the fridge-freezer at the mains overnight and in the morning, broke and chucked out the ice chunks that had lined up in the bottom of the freezer section and then turned it back on. I returned that night to see that it was working fine again! Hallelujah, I got my fridge back!!

So it seems that all it needed was a good long defrost, so far so good! I hope this solves your problem.

SOURCE: liebherr frost free fridge/freezer

Try these solutions in these order:
1. Switch off the fridge and leave the door open overnight. Switch it back on in the morning.
Explanation: The sensor inside the fridge gets frozen and cannot control the temperature properly.
2. Switch off the fridge. Unplug it. At the back of the fridge (behind the unit, not inside) there is a large grid. Clean it with a hoover thoroughly. Open the fridge. Dry the back of the fridge if wet (inside the fridge). If frosted wait for it to defrost and then dry it. Plug in the fridge. Switch the fridge back on. This one worked for me.
Explanation: The dust in the grid deprives the fridge from cooling down and the unit can't control the temperature in the fridge section.
3. Switch off the fridge. -Unplug it. Empty it. Turn it upside down. Plug it in. Switch it on for 24 hours. Switch it off. Unplug, return to normal and switch on.
Explanation: This has to do with the pressure of the gas inside the compressor. I have not tried it but this advice as given to me by a qualified electrician when I commented the (in)famous F2 problem in Liebherr fridge/freezers.
Hope it helps. Regards. Albert

SOURCE: zanussi fridge compartment has stopped cooling but freezer is ok

How to check everything
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .

OR.
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

We keep getting lots of ice accumulating at the bottom of our freezer. Any ideas?

Probably a plugged drain line or plugged drain pan opening. This drain pan is located under the cooling coil (evaporator). When the unit defrost itself, the water is carried away via this pan and drain line.

I have bought a logik fridge freezer its in garage which is attached to my house but in the fridge I have frozen tomatoes

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You did not provide a model number, so I can only advise in general terms.

The basic operation of a combo freezer/fresh food section unit are the same.

Generally, the fresh food section does not have a independent cooling source. It gets its cooling from the freezer section. There is a air damper from the freezer to the fresh food section. This air damper is controlled by a thermostat. I suspect that either the thermostat is bad or the damper. Your air damper is wide open.

The other problem is, your unit is not designed to operated in a garage. If you have a warrantee or a service contract it will be cancelled by the service company. Your electrical components can short out or corrode from the drastic change in temperature. Your control board can fail due to static in the air or condensate.

Hi we got our logik fridge freezer yester day and

On any refrigerator or freezer, heat from the inside of the box is removed to the outside by means of the refrigerant in the system. This refrigerant is carried through copper or steel tubing which is attached to the cabinet of the unit. This facilitates dispersion of the heat that has been removed from the inside. In other words, it is normal operation.

My logik freezer wont freeze

Hi, the motor (compressor) is not working, or the gas is not circulating properly due to a blocked choke ( A much thicker short section of the piping housed at the back of the body) or the gas is leaking out, probably by now there is no more gas in the pipes. But first check to see and hear if the motor is working when switched on.If the motor does run, then it is definitely a gas circulation problem due to the two mentioned above facts. Only the repair man can help in any one of these circumstances
If there is a gas leak, then you will have to buy a new freezer.as present day modern freezers are too labor intensive to strip down to access the piping in order to repair an internal leak. If the leak is external then it is easily repairable.
Hope i have been of help
Good luck

Logik refrigerator lfc50s10 has a blocked drain hole how do i clear it

Logic fridge/freezer
no! I pushed a plastic coated flexible steel wire down the hole and it hit something solid after 2 feet, I pushed it up from the bottom and it hit the same solid. it feels like plastic, I blew down the pipe in the top hole and water blew back. Water is not flowing down.

My freezer is working perfectly but the fridge is not

The channel in the back were the cool air comes down from the freezer to the fridge may be iced up. Try defrosting the fridge/freezer for much longer than usual, all day if necessary.

I have a zanussu fridge

Re. Zanussi ZK87/46EFS Fridge Freezer

The same symptom occurred in our fridge freezer. The fridge compartment warmed up whilst the freezer compartment continued to keep temperature.

The cause of our problem was diagnosed as a frozen sensor that controls a flap, that controls the flow of cold air from the freezer compartment up into the fridge compartment. We were advised to power off the fridge freezer (removing all food and trays from the freezer unit first), and to leave it to defrost for 24hrs. We needed to place a few towels on the floor of the freezer compartment to soak up the melt water. After 24hrs we followed the power up instructions in the manual (versions are available online if you have lost yours). Within a few minutes it was obvious that the fridge compartment was being cooled – Problem solved :)
