I ve got sony ps2 in india and i always have to get a new gaming cd. is there any option to unlock my ps2 so that i even use pirated cds on it.

If your PS2 is made pre-2009 (has a manufacturer number less than 9xxxxxxxx) then you can use a bootloader to unlock the USB and hardrive to play "backed up" games and AVI movies.

You will need on of these things:
1) an original copy of 007 Agent Under Fire or an original PS1 game, to use as a "trigger" disk.
2) a original copy of Gameshark, SwapMagic, or CodeBreaker for PS2 (DL'ed copies wont work)

and you will need:
1) a memory card plugged into your PS2 slot 1
2) a USB drive

Now do this:

Load the boatloader ELF file from a burner "backup copy" of your 007 disk (using the "disk swap trick" on your "sensor-modded" PS2. I used ESR Disk Patcher and Apache V1.1 to alter the TOC values of the ELF file and "patch" the ISO file before burning, and I used the disk swap trick after playing level one of the game, saving, and then loading the "driving level" (level 2).

OR use SwapMagic or similar tool to load the bootloader. You can find Youtube videos detailing this process.

Install Free McBoot onto your memcard using the bootloader. You can use the "noobie package", use google to find this and put the files onto yor USB card. Voila! Now you can play AVI files or "backed up" games from USB or hard-drive, among other fun things.

How to pirate my game

Hi mate,

I use DVD Decrypter. Change the "Mode" settings to read the PS2 disk as an ISO file. After it's completed, change the "Mode" settings again to write ISO, and insert your blank disk!

This "back-ups" your legally purchased PS2 games as a ISO file to any blank dvd disk.

A word to the wise, don't use the heading "pirate" in any forums. The Sony corp is listening!! LOL!

Playing of pirated dvd movies in sony play station slim

This may be because DVD movies have a reigion code on the disk and on a pirated disk this code may be removed. When the ps2 fails to find the code, it aborts playing the disk. I believe the regional lockout for games (which i assume you have disabled) is a different system to DVD lockouts.

Disk read error

First of all dont play PIRATED games.

But for the solution , if your console is modded for playing pirated games, then any of the soldered wire through the modded chip may be disconnected or may be loosen. The soldering sometimes gets off the connections(the soldering guy may be ignorant) . So check your ps2.

Playing pirated games

pirating is illeagal and i cannot condone it but if you want to bother with it get a mod chip to play back ups checkout they sell mod chips for various consoles, or at least they did when the original xbox was still new, anyway if you want to play movies early generation ps2 may be able to play dvd backups, must be the entire disk with the protection copied (an exact imageg of the original dvd) also some usb addons for this are now available, if you have a psx(pre psone playstations with the expansion slot on the rear preferably) can very easily be done, all you need is one real psx game and either a non cdx (mem card and cd style) games shark or pro action replay (i prefer the par) using a lego peice or an m3 screw(standard pc case screw) and a cd case prop the lid open and use the case to hold it half closed, the disk will spin as if it where closed and can be swaped with the backup disk once the system is booted to the gs or par screen, at this point the disk will stop spinning after verifing the disk is legit, then you swap with the back up and start the game with or without cheats, some versions of the psx will double check if it does its not an early enough version., sorry about the length if you need more details email me,
