Question about Dell Vostro 1400 Notebook
When i connect my charger to my laptop dell vostro 1400, my system will be hanged... just remove the charger at this time my laptop works properly... what is the solution to resolve this issue...
Check the voltVoltage too high and the laptop shuts down to protect itself, too low and it won't work.
If it states 19.5vplts, that's what it needs.

The center of the connetor for the AC adapter to the system has a very fine wire that is the sensing wire for the battery charger. It ID's the type adapter connected to the system. If the wire is bent or broken, the system cannot ID the adapter and the battery charger will not function.
If the wire is bent or broken, then replace the AC adapter. ALso try a different adapter and see if the issue occurs with it. If the issue happens with more than one adapter or if this adapter functions normmaly on another system, then the motherboard will need to be replaced.

If the Vostro doesn't read the signal automatically try to switch the signal from internal to external using the Fn (function) key + one of the F keys above the number keys. This key is usually F4 but may be different for yours. Also, make sure the input is correct on the tv....

You might have a defective ac adapter or power related problem on the system board. Go to radio shack and see if they have a tester adapter (most have universal laptop power adapters and you can try in the store to see if this works). If same issue, most like a defective battery or defective system board.
