I have a U-Line bar refrigerator/ice maker. Nothing but trouble for 8
years now. The ice maker is erratic. and does not work now. The
thermostat seems to be defective and refrig. will not get cold: just
cool. The shelf hardware is either rusted or corroded.
Question .. should I replace it with same brand or another brand? If
so, what brand. Since the ice maker is not an necessity, I was
thinking of just getting one of those small units they sell at
Costco-Price Club.
All suggestions and comments appreciated.

- I can't tell you how many problems I have had with U-Line. The first one lasted 6 years after a number of repairs. The next one lasted 3 years before a costly overhaul ($600) was needed. It just gave up the ghost again (4 more years). And these are the major items....the minor items are too numerous to mention. Truly a piece of **** and doesn't warrant another purchase of a U Line model. I'll probably go with a GE Monogram although I have to some cabinet modificatnions.- amessbJul 08, 2008
- I have a U-Line ice maker. It's two years old, out of warranty, and never has worked right. Have had it serviced more times than I can recall. It has been broken for six months, and factory authorized repair agents appear unable to fix it. Probably best to go with another brand.- GuestDec 03, 2007
