Replacing my CV Axles

The driver's side front CV axle on my 2000 Chevy Metro broke on a turn a couple of days ago. My friend is going to help me replace both front CV axles, but I need to buy them, and I am not sure which to buy. It is a 2000 Chevy Metro LSi with a manual transmission.
Any ideas on which axles to buy, or how I could find out?

Hi, your axles on the metro are actually called half shafts, any larger name parts house can order them for you. Call them with the Make, Year, and Model and they will take care of you. you will need to tell them, drivers side or passengers side. Hope this helps!

check your axles, for an open cv boot, this clicking is on straigth or turning, if turming to your rigth you hear noise to be louder on your left then your left axle is bad, do the same to your left and if noise exists then your rigth axle is bad.good luck

My granddaughter's 2000 Stratus makes a front end noise turning left but not right. Half shaft or CV joint?

I'd say constant velocity joint. It's been my experience that the offending side is usually opposite from the direction being turned. Turn the wheel to each extreme side and get a look at the c.v. boots. If it's ripped or torn it's a good indication that foreign material has entered it and caused excessive wear. If I've helped, please rate my assistance. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

2004 chevy cavalier makes a ''knocking'' sound

This could be any number of things. It could be your CV axle going bad, your tie rod joint has gone bad, your lower ball joint has gone bad. More than likely it will be your CV axle. What you need to look for is rips on any of the boots for these parts. The one that has the rip will more than likely be your problem. Just check for grease coming out of any of these parts and you will find your culprit because it has dried up and is causing the knocking sound. Let me know if you have any further questions. Noise w/front left tire when turning slightly right but NOT left

the grinding grating rattling annoying sound is yor axles (velocity joint) it could be a simple thing as the boot rubber poping out and the grease spilled off or the bearing is shelling. In any case have the joint repaired or replaced. After this you will need to align as the changing or removing of the joint messes the alignment up.

Cv axle

Probably the wheel bering. If your going down the road and turn to the passenger side and it gets worse, its the drivers side bering and visa versa.
