my xbox 360 has sound but no picture

similar, mine played fine, then picture fizzled out and now it boots up fine with green lights, but no picture at all coming through to the TV.

I turned off/on at plug, let it cool down, removed scart wires and put them back in, still no further forward - is it the xbox thats goosed! or maybe the connections to TV? ive never heard of connections going tho!

Do not wrap your xbox360 up in towels it just fucks it up more even though it seems to work your actually doing serious damage...

All of the mentioned video problem have a greater repair success rate when the GPU is reballed. The same goes for some of the more stubborn game freezes. I've reballed the GPU on 10 console and only one could not fix GPU, it was probably damaged when the customer overheat it doing the xclamp reflow.

Reballing is not cheap but it does work. It's the best solution to the 3RLOD, all though professional reflowing will repair most problem, there still the issue that the solder balls under go numerous temperature cycles making them brittle which will also require a higher temperature to reflow them. Note that the xclamps must be remove to prevent any re-occuring 3RLOD's. That being said any existing system that does not have the 3RLOD should be removing the xclamps as a prevent measure. I'm in the process of putting together a tutorial which allow the removal of the xclamp without drilling or adding bolts to fix it. It use's all of the exsisting hardware with no modification needed to remount CPU and GPU.Please not that this method will only work with systems that have been reflowed or do not have the 3RLOD.

If you are not refuring to this and nuthing is showing up on your tv screen but you have sound try ajusting/ spinning around the yellow av cord ( Yellow cord is what projects pictures onto screen) . Hope it helped. =]

I have no picture, but no red lights

It's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

This is a serious issue that will need the attention of a skilled Microsoft tech. Contact Microsoft asap.

3 red flashing lights

When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply is button is red than you need to replace the battery or check the connections.

The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console. If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online.

Hopefully your system is still under warranty.
