How about try Aneesoft free video converter to convert the .Mp4 videos to iPod ,MP4 video, I can't tell the detailed difference between the Mp4 you have and iPod Mp4 video, but the Aneesoft free video converter have the output settings for iPod!
the problem is tthat android cant play very many video formats you have to donwload an app to play them, i highly suggest MX video players its simple and plays anything and is free!
probably it is a mp4 player and will play just that format ...the idea is to download a converter that will allow you to adjust the bit rate and the framerate of the file ... so ...after that take a look on the properties (advanced) of one of the files that do plays in the player ...and after that convert the files you want to add to player by the exact format ...(mpeg4...or mp4..or avi ..) including the framerate ..and the bitrate .. Another thing ...even if the player can display pictures...if it is not an mp4 player will ot play any video...but just pictures...and mp3(sound ) files...no matter if it has or not display capable to do that ..Only mp4 and avi players do that ..
