It may sound hard to believe but yes, you can make yoghurt but
putting it into a vaccum sealed thermos flask. The vaccume keeps the
milk temperature consistent for hours.Once it sets you can move it to
a different container.

I have a thermos 1 liter flask. I was washing it the other day. The glass part was our of the flask and a rubber seal came off but I didn't see where the seal came from. Please can you tell me where do I...


There is a rubber ring on the bottom of the glass and it holds the glass flask in place in the metal body.I wonder if this is what you describe as a seal.When you put the glass back in its body it should push up to a ring seal at the top.If that is there then I am sure it's the shock ring at the bottom.

I need a manual for a Kenwood yogurella maker


Before using the yoghurt maker for the first time it is vital that you clean and sterilise the glass jars, a measuring jug, a spoon and a sieve. You can either use a food-grade steriliser, or plunge the items into very hot (but not boiling) water. Preferably, allow the items to air dry to avoid transferring germs from a tea towel.

The yoghurt can be made with full, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk. You need to measure five glass jarfuls of milk into a high-sided saucepan. You will also need one jarful of natural yoghurt (either bought or made from a previous batch). Heat the milk until it starts to climb the sides of the saucepan (don't take your eyes off it). . Let it cool to about 96oF (a kitchen thermometer is useful) and then pour the milk through the sieve into the jug.

Next, stir your starter jar of yoghurt into the milk and then divide the mixture between the six glass jars, close the lids securely, put them into the base unit and switch on. Set the hour reminder so that you will know when the yoghurt is done. If you are making the yoghurt with full fat milk it takes about four hours and skimmed milk takes about six.

When the yoghurt is ready, take the jars out of the yoghurt maker and place in the fridge to cool. Once cool, the yoghurt is ready to eat.

You may find when you come to eat the yoghurt that a liquid has formed on the top. This is whey and you can either stir it into the yoghurt or pour it off.

How does a thermos work?


A thermos is a vacuum flask that has two flasks. One flask is in the other flask and they are joined at the top. The gap doesnt have a lot of air. This makes a near-vacuum with the prurpose of stopping the transfer of heat or cold. Therefore, the thermos keeps a drink hot or cold.

The top of my 500ml/0.6qt thermal vacuum flask is broken and i'm not sure if i can get a replacement as the thermos is still okay. i would be grateful to know if i can get a replacement top so i don't have...

Hi I did a search and found your flask supplier and also found that yours has a 5 year warranty, so here is where you can get help to replace your stopper, if you go to this site you can contact thermos direct

How do I descale a Thermos?


For excessive staining use of household stain or scale remover is recommended. To remove difficult stains fill your flask with hot water, add one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and secure cap. Soaking overnight produces excellent results. Always rinse before re-use.
