you should check out that nothing is toching it while is spinning to cool the procesor!

deppending on the make of your laptop you can take the cover off and then do a visual look to make sure all seems to be correct, in another words just make sure the fan looks clean and the turn the laptop on without the cover to see if the noise is still there!!!

I was watching a video online when my laptop just shut down and turned off without warning. When I attempted to turn my laptop back on, it began making a high pitched noise! I turned off my laptop and...

To avoid this when watching a movie or lots of video's prop up your laptop with pencil or something else small and slender under the back. Just so the laptop isn't flush with the table or desk. You want airflow under the laptop. It shut down because of overheating to protect itself. Watch videos/movies can be very cpu/video card intensive driving up the temperature. Best of luck, Ravi Shanghavi

E6500 making a beeping noise

Does beeping noise happened before turning on laptop? If yes unplug the laptop from the AC Adapter. Just leave AC Adapter ON and connected to the power outlet. Check if AC Adapter is the one making beeping noise. Note: This is an issue with dell AC Adapter laptops
If no beeping noise in AC Adapter then proceed checking it from the laptop. Does beeping noise happened immediately when laptop is turned on? If yes then it might be laptop's hard drive creating the sound. Try to check the BIOS in your laptop under the category performance if the HDD Acoustic is ON either in Normal or Performance. Note: When laptop is in performance the hard drive makes noise due to its speed, this is normal if BIOS HDD Acoustic mode is ON to performance.
If the noise only happens when sometime while working on the laptop, this might be cause by the laptop fan. This also happens after turning on the laptop fan my have dirt and dust, please do check.
If fan was cleaned, HDD performance was checked and AC adapter was checked then, carefully sense if noise is coming from the internal speakers.
Download the latest BIOS update for your laptop then flash the BIOS. Make sure battery and AC adapter are connected when doing these.

Noisy fan after a few minutes start up

Yeah. i had this problem too. the fan is noisy because it is garbage. it needs to be replaced if you want to get rid of the noice. you moving the laptop wen the noise first started is just coincidence. the heatsink is fine, but the fan itself is poorly made. The ball bearings get loose and so the fan doesnt stay in its vertical plane and it kind of shakes a little, thats why it makes the noise. if you open it up and turn your laptop on, and wait for the noise, you will notice that if you push down lightly on the center of the fan, the noise goes away, because you are creating pressure at it's center of gravity point which makes it stop wobbling. you wont see the wobbling with the naked eye, because its much to slight to see, but its definatly enough to make that annoying fighter jet take-off noise..

as far as the noise, thats the sound it makes when something is wrong with the battery (if you ever drain it all the way down and try to boot it, it will make the noise) kind of messed up noise in my opinion, but its not a big deal, as long as it doesnt repeat.

for the fan, you dont need to replace it if you dont use your laptop a lot, you can try to keep your laptop cooler to keep the fan from turning on also. i suggest one of those USB fan pads that you put under the laptop, or a thermal pad, thermapak makes one for $30 i think, and it drops temps by 6 degrees celcius they claim, i dont know exact numbers but if def helped me. you can also try to put something in the back to keep the back elevated (where all the heat is) and the fan wont spin as much.

i know with desktop fans that get lots of use, noise is the 1st sign of fan failure to come, but ive been using my laptop with that god awful noise for about 4months now, and its still alive and kicking.

good luck!
