u can but i dont reccomend it as u wont be able to play games properly because the pay and go broad band is very slow

Who exactly is "They"? By my understanding, the X-box 360 Arcade is NOT backwards compatible, meaning it cannot play original x-box games. The only one i know of that can is the X-Box 360 elite.

Now then, if you go online to the X-box live Marketplace, they have quite a few original x-box games available for download, but you have to pay for them :( These downloaded versions WILL work with the 360 Arcade

Simply play online. Things downloaded on the same HDD but different console won't work on another console for some reason, so just get on Xbox LIVE.

Do you have a harddrive for your xbox? if not, you cannot get it to work

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.

it is just a problem with halo because it happens to alot of people you can buy a new one or live with it

You will not have any problems using the Hard drive on your new console. The only catch is any Live Arcade downloads will not work offline until you do the DRM transfer. Even though you are using the same Hard Drive the DRM is married to the original console. They have made it easy to transfer now. All you need is to be logged into XBOX Live and a computer that is on the internet. Just turn on your console, log it into XBOX Live, and use the computer to go to www.xbox.com/drm That will solve all of your problems.
