Problem for Acer Aspire 5610-4648 (LX.AXZ0X.097) PC Notebook

Acer Aspire 5612wmli has crashed. Scan disk FAT 32.

My laptop has crashed and been scanning. It was suggested that I press key"alt" and hit F10, then when screen opened insert a recovery disk. I do not have a recovery disk and now the screen is totally black when I open the computer. Is there anything I can do? Lots of student files, computer is 2yr 8months old and has no Acer warranty.

Can you get to safe mode? Tap F8 on start up and go to Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
