Re: pump issuse

I had same issue OE error on my LG Tromm washer and the service manual was exactly what I needed.  I drained and emptied the filter about a dozen times and could not get the error to go away. I did find some junk in the filter after each of the first few times. I even powered down twice for 30 minutes. I tried the spin/soil test mode to get the drain pump going and it would not work. I ended up pulling the machine apart. I followed the service manual and I checked the resistance (ohms) across the pump motor and it was OK (it is easy to do with a simple multi-tester).  I even tested it to make sure it was OK with 120V power and it was.  However, when I removed the pump from the housing I did find some junk, wood sticks, in with the pump impeller that got past the filter.  I wondered if that could be the issue. I took the opportunity, since I removed the pump, to completely clean out the pump housing and the drain pipe.  I blew through the pipe several times and put water through it.  Lots of stench in the drain line.  Bleach took care of it.
I was disappointed that the pump was not bad since that was an easy $50 fix.  The next thing in the service manual was to check the computer board and that is expensive and hard to get.  I decided to check to see I got lucky before I messed with the computer board.  I got lucky!!! The washer works like new.  My wife immediately noticed that the clothes are coming out less wet like they did when we first got the machine a year ago.  Must have been the sticks in with the impeller.
Three loads later we are OK.  Other than this we have been very happy with the machine.  GK 4/1/08

Thank you very much for the service manual post! You have done a great service for all who own this WM. You deserve a pat on the back my friend. Thank you and best regards.

Shame on that Technician!

Re: pump issuse

The service manual is at:
1. Press the SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons simultaneously.
2. Press the Power button, while the above condition. Then buzzer will sound twice.
3. Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly to cycle through the test modes
If it's pressed 10 times, the drain pump turns on.

What does the code F20 Mean?

Look on the tech sheet for your washer. It is behind the service panel.

F-20 has got something to do with the drainage pump.

Clean pump light appearing

Needs to be serviced as the machine is stating. if you are not a tech "guru" I would call a tech. But if you feel you can handle it. I suggest you contact a local parts supply store and they can sell you a book that will show you how to unassailable and reassemble it with ease and you will save some $$$ fixing it yourself. As this is something a my young child could fix. Nothing feels better than to fix something all by ones self. :)

Front door does not open

Must be something in the pump. Take the bottom panel off and open the pump cleanout. Tech sheet for trouble shooting is just behind the motor control unit(white boX) to the left there.be0ff1b.jpgdb21830.jpg132e75c.jpg

Kenmore HE2 front load washer that does not drain and spin well. It does drain and spin sometimes though, so nothing is preventing from doing that. The service tech replaced the pump, but he could not fix...

Some how there is debris like socks or something small getting down and blocking your drain plug. take the bottom panel off your machine by removing the 3 (1/4") screws at the very bottom of your washer. once the panel is removed you'll see a 1 1/2" PVC white valve plug. open that by turning it to the left untill open (WARNING ALL THE WATER WILL DRAIN OUT THOUGH THIS PLUG) remove debris and you all set.

I have an HE2 Plus Front Loader. When it drains,

Sounds like there might be something in the pump that got past the button trap. You will have to remove the pump to check it.

Error codes on Kenmore Elite washer

F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancell, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech.

while F09 is the water pump. It usually means something is clogging it. Take the front cover off of the washer and the water pump is located right in the middle front. Unscrew the cover to the pump and make sure there is nothing clogging it.

Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer...F02 and SUD not draining!!!!

Probably something caught in pump. Remove lower panel if this one has it and you will see the pump. Loosen the round cover in middle to access clean-out.
